Thriller vinyl play order

I was out for dinner with friends last night and the restaurant was playing quite a lot of MJ which is always good to hear, a pal of mine asked me why the play list for Thriller on vinyl LP differed from the CD....is this true?

He was certain that Thriller was the last track on side two and the order was quite different to what we are all familiar with, I've searched my house for my vinyl but can't find it anywhere....can anyone advise?

I'm pretty sure Thriller was the last track on side 1.

It's exactly the same order. "Thriller" is the last song on side 1, and "Beat It" is the 1st song on side 2. The 8-track of the "Thriller" album did have a different order, but that was a common thing with 8-tracks. The "Bad" album on vinyl and cassette is different than the CD, only in that "Leave Me Alone" is not on them.
