What's wrong is that around 4 billion children are dying every day, which is startling since there are like 7 billion people in total on Earth.

There is actually some truth to that..

Besides all the children dying all over the world in general, children in Africa and such..

Did YOU know that since 79' China has prevented (with their 1 child policy) over 300 mio (!!!) childbirths... And that is actually true..

The silent killers are poverty, hunger, easily preventable diseases and illnesses, and other related causes. In spite of the scale of this daily/ongoing catastrophe, it rarely manages to achieve, much less sustain, prime-time, headline coverage.

Either way, I am sorry but I still don't find it funny. It's beyond sad that children die every single day for no reason.

Aww, that was cute. :wub:
But regardless of the numbers, the message is important. And one can hear the sincere pain and agony in his voice. He truly cared and suffered with every child who suffered. And that was one of the things which made him so special. If there were more people like him, the world would be a so much better place. :better:

I could hug him right there on the stage.. and we must not forget his point behind saying this, even though it came of a little exaggerated!
 
i believe if the children among these 3 million did not die physically , i think they might die emotionally...and this is far more wors :(

watch the news but not in USA or UK and you'll understand what is really going on around the world... watch real news and you'll see how many kids around the world suffer every kind of death.

And I don't think Michael needs to be "defended" here, Dutchie. It's not like anyone is accusing him of anything other than a humorous mistake. If you don't find it funny, that's fine, but there's also no particular need to commence with the snooty "I'm sorry but I don't know what's so funny about that!" finger wagging. I would probably find half of the stuff you find funny to be stupid anyway :). Everyone has their own sense of humor. It's not as if people laughing at this error is going to cause more children to die. Chill. Be happy it's not true. Eat some ice cream. Etc. This isn't a serious thread.
