The 'You can't win' and 'Ease on Donw the Road' thread...

Brand New Day is my favorite part of the movie. The 1st line is sung by Luther Vandross, who also wrote it. But the version in the movie is a bit different than the soundtrack version. There is also another version of You Can't Win that is different and longer (7:14) than the movie/soundtrack version. Part of this version was later released as Can't Get Outta The Rain.

i never could understand why they released part of that song..as another song lol..its just repetitive..like where is the verse lol

The You Can't Win version on TUC is the long one right?
I don't know as I don't have that. I think it was originally a B-side to a Jacksons single. I have it as the B-side of the Billie Jean maxi single. The long version is a totally different version.

Why is that part known as 'Can't get outta the rain'? To me it sounds like they say 'Can't get outta the game'?

oooh, loove the songs from the wiz!!! MJ was magical as an actor in the wiz! I wish the "Peter Pan" movie would've been made! From watching the unauthorized interview, i feel that MJ would've been MAGICAL!

There is a Peter Pan movie that came out about 2 or 3 years ago, and also Hook with Robin Williams. I've never heard of one that was gonna have MJ in it. In older versions, it seemed there was mostly females playing Peter for some reason.
