“The wounded soul”
Written by Daz
Inspired by my 'intern ship'
in a book store...
Have you heard the saying ‘NEVER judge someone by its cover’ ?
I experienced it this week…
During my ‘book store’ intern ship,
I met a lot of people but yesterday one stood out…
The day before,
a lady pretty dressed and quite stern and bitchy had
asked me about a children’s book…
She wanted all the 7 parts but we just had Part 1 and 4…
She left kind of frustrated…
The next day, she came back…
I was doing ‘research’ work in the kids department and
the same stern woman strolled in…
She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw me but
I only smiled at her and continued my work.
In the corner of my eye,
I noticed she went straight for that book she asked for yesterday…
She took it as it was the most ‘precious’ gift she could touch…
She caressed the book and a wave of worry strolled through me so I looked up…
Once again,
I felt like the lady was a deer caught in the headlights…
The way she glanced at me…
I only smiled at her again and bowed my head to continue my research…
She left with the book…
After awhile, she came back and carefully placed the book back and
yet again I felt that wave of worry rushing through me…
Just a ‘boring’ story to tell, I know…
What seemed to be a stern ‘bitchy’ lady on the outside was
really a sensitive ‘wounded’ soul who either had a ‘crush’ or
even a painful ‘memory’ about that Children’s book and
it made such an ‘impression’ on me that I had to share it…
Thanks for reading…
