This is one of my fave songs from the "Triumph" album. I believe Jackie wrote it. Anyway, I think "Your Ways' is very underrated, I never hear anyone, not even Jackson fans talking about it. "Triumph" is all around a very good album and this is one of the best songs on there imo. It's also one of the few times where Michael sings in falsetto the entire time and Michael as always, sounds wonderful in it. Great song.

oooh, I like this song
even though the music is a little scary ,lol

I've always loved the song Your Ways, a genius of a song and one of the reasons I rate Jackie Jackson very highly as a music talent. Michael's vocals on this song are amazing, as is everything about this song. I wonder if this song had an influence on Prince.

I don't hear any Prince influence. Anyway, at this point (1980) Prince only had 2 albums (For You & Prince) and they didn't have a special sound, just some late 70's dance R&B and ballads. Dirty Mind was released in 1980, and it was the beginning of Prince's own sound.

I totally agree with you in that I don't hear any Prince influence on Your Ways. You have misunderstood what I said, because of a spelling mistake I made, which I have now corrected. What I ment was I wonder of the song Your Ways had an influence on Prince, because sonically some latter Prince recordings mainly unreleased and previously unreleased songs have a simular sound to Your Ways.

Maybe this song have influenced Prince ?

I'm sure it will have had an influence on Prince, from Michael's vocal to Jackie's songwriting/ composition etc.
