I watched The Girl Can't Help It (1956) starring Jayne Mansfield, Tom Ewell (who also was lucky enough to work with Marilyn Monroe in The Seven Year Itch 1955 and Judy Holiday in Adam's Rib 1949) Edmond O'Brien and featuring Little Richard, Julie London, Fats Domino, The Platters, Ray Anthony, Gene Vincent and the amazing Abbey Lincoln  . It about a Gangster who hires down-and-out press agent to make his blonde bimbo girlfriend a singing sensation, and was directed by the legendary Frank Tashlin who also directed Jayne and her future hubby Mickey Hargitay (the parents of Mariska Hargitay on Law & Order SVU :wild in the excellent Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? (1957) and my fav Doris Day film The Glass Bottom Boat (1966). Watch this John Water's review because it pretty much sums up this film, and why it's so enjoyable to watch and iconic
I give it 5 out of 5 A funny movie with an totally awesome soundtrack and yes I loved those sparkly curtains too
