I was wondering what is the memory,
if there is a specific memory,
for each of you, from the beginning.

How did you "meet" Michael?
How this love began?
Do you remember the first time you heard his voice, and how did you feel?

Thank you

well, I didn't know of his existence until the spring of 2023. a friend saw an impersonator while in Vegas for spring break. Looked him up cuz why not and learned he was an artist. First song I heard was Bad from the Megamind movie, had no clue it was him, but I happened to watch the bad music video first and it kinda grew from there. I thought he looked super kool in the fit and the hair was fire and I was in awe. The first time I heard him speak would have been sometime in late August of 2023 and I thought it was so sweet and inviting. That my little 2 cents.

As a kid in early 2000s my parents (especially my father) used to watched this Thriller videoclip on a website (I don't think YouTube existed back then maybe it was Dailymotion I don't know) and I was really scared of Michael when he transformed himself into a monster, screaming and all. My father used to imitate his cry as a monster and I HATED IT lol! Also, those yellow eyes at the end haunted me for a while... But the song was fire! This was my first exposure to Michael Jackson but still I was never really interested in him until recently.

Fast forward >>>>>> Two or three months ago I was watching some reels and the algorithm fed me videos of Michael in all eras and I was really hooked by his impressive dance skills and performances. I kept watching those videos and eventually I started to get curious about the human and not only the artist. So I read a lot about him online. I was lurking this forum here and there before making an account. Then, this love grew exponentially. I was really amazed by his charity works and the meanings of his songs. He really wanted to fight injustice. I really love how he treated kids (especially the unprivileged ones.) The kid in him was still very alive and the way he wanted to live his life on his ranch and his authenticity really touched me. People criticized him and called him weird and his perseverance through all of those judgments really touched me. So... here I am today writing in this tread lol! I never really had an idol in my life (except my mother, she's #1!!!!) but now that I know Michael and his generosity I feel like he is someone people should be inspired by. He was truly a good person. A positive human with a lot of powers that he wanted to use for the good of others and not for himself. He was not selfish.

What about you @unfioredarancio?
