The early Jermaine albums on cd

I've always wondered why Motown haven't remastered or reissued the solo Jermaine albums on their label? The four later albums (Dynamite, Precious Moments, Don't Take It Personal, and You Said) are available on cd, although out of print in several countries. But it seems like virtually all of the Jermaine albums before that (including classic albums like Let's Get Personal, Let Me Tickle Your Fancy, the '80 Jermaine album, and Feel The Fire) have never been issued on cd. Which means that the only way you can hear them is to buy a turntable and track down an old, scratchy version of an original LP, or to download illegal mp3 versions that are floating around file sharing networks (which is what I had to resort to.)

Jermaine was pretty popular back then, too, and judging by the reactions on his YouTube video threads, he still has a lot of followers around. Surely they would be pulling out their pocket money to buy expanded, remastered editions of all Jermaine's solo albums. So why, then, haven't Motown taken advantage of this opportunity? I mean, they pretty much exploited Michael Jackson's solo career right after he left Motown, and they're still releasing tons of reissues. Is it because Jermaine isn't Michael or Janet?

I'm thinking about starting a petition or something, because I really want to hear remastered versions of these albums. As a fan, I really want to hear them. Even if they don't have bonus tracks, a proper release would be fantastic. It just seems so weird that Motown is ignoring one of their biggest and most popular artists during that era, even if he was the one who brought it all to an end. Come on, Motown, give one of your most talented artists a proper representation.

The 1st album "Jermaine" is on CD in Japan. I guess you would have to pay an expensive import fee though. "Let's Get Serious" has been on CD in the late 80s, but went out of print. I have all of the albums, but "Frontiers" is cracked though. Jermaine's Motown albums didn't do much (other than Let's Get Serious), because they weren't promoted. Which was one of the reasons the other brothers left the label. Jermaine did have some R&B hits though, but didn't cross over like Mike & Janet. Motown tends to just re-release the same old 60s stuff and nothing else after that except Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, & maybe that Commodores album with 'Brick House' on it and Rick James' "Street Songs" album.

Jermaine wasn't bad as a performer. I really liked his music. I have all of Jermaine's albums too and I can't find a turntable to play them on. I wish Motown would put his records on cd's

I have one of jermaines Cd. It was an import called Dynamite. I would dearly love to hear the song he wrote and sang on Gone country. I hear it was excellent.

There's no album called Dynamite. It must be a compilation.

There is. I own it. I bought it in HMV and it is the only one i have. I played it last week. It is an imported cd and it may well have been a compilation, but I wouldn't know that since I don't have any other to compare it with.

I've seen this once in the budget CD section, but I never count those as albums, lol. But I've never seen the 84 album called Dynamite.

^^^^^Well, in that case, It's a compilation. "Closest Thing To Perfect" is not from a Jermaine album, but its on the soundtrack to Perfect. There is also a duet with Whitney Houston called "Shock Me" on the soundtrack plus songs from Wham!, Thompson Twins, Nona Hendrix, and others. The other songs listed on the cover are from different albums.

I mean, this "Dynamite" CD not an "album" of original material, but a compilation or hits, like Mike's "Number Ones". These songs come from different sources. The song "Perfect" comes from a soundtrack, and not a "Jermaine Jackson" album. I have the soundtrack in question, plus the albums the other songs come from.
