MICHAEL JACKSON'S THIS IS IT Will Have (Over) 25 Premieres Around The Globe!?!?

Last week we got our first look at the trailer for MICHAEL JACKSON'S THIS IS IT (HERE or HERE).

Now comes word that the movie will have over 25 premieres worldwide, with over half that number coordinated to occur simultaneously.
Per the following press release from Sony:
CULVER CITY, Calif., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Fans worldwide will have the opportunity to celebrate the global launch of Michael Jackson's THIS IS IT when Sony Pictures Entertainment hosts over 25 global premieres, with more than 15 of those coordinated simultaneously around the world, on Tuesday, October 27th. Three hours after the red carpet events begin, audiences will be able to see the highly anticipated film for the first time as the studio has added special advance screenings that evening throughout the world.

Michael Jackson's THIS IS IT will be available worldwide for a limited two-week engagement beginning, Wednesday October 28. Tickets for all shows, including the Tuesday night special advance screenings, are available for purchase beginning this coming Sunday, September 27. Moviegoers can purchase tickets by visiting all major motion picture ticketing websites as well as www.thisisit-movie.com.

"Michael Jackson has an army of fans everywhere around the world. By rolling out this film with simultaneous premieres and special advance screenings on October 27th, we are giving audiences an incredible opportunity to join together in celebration of Michael Jackson's incredible career," said Jeff Blake, chairman, Worldwide Marketing and Distribution for Sony Pictures.

The film's world gala will be in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on Tuesday, October 27. That event, which begins at 6pm PDT, kicks off a series of more than 25 premieres around the globe. More than 15 cities, including New York, Rio De Janeiro, London, Berlin, Johannesburg, and Seoul will host events simultaneously, with red carpet arrivals and activities from the Los Angeles gala broadcast by satellite to those cities. Other cities, including Moscow, Tokyo, Sydney, Paris, and many others will host their own, non-simultaneous premiere activities.

Three hours after the worldwide celebration of the motion picture, the first public screenings of the film will begin. For example, the first audiences in Los Angeles will see the film at 9pm; in New York, audiences will have the opportunity to see the film at midnight; and in London, the advance screenings will be at 4am UK time.

Michael Jackson's THIS IS IT will offer Jackson fans and music lovers worldwide a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the performer as he developed, created and rehearsed for his sold-out concerts that would have taken place beginning this summer in London's O2 Arena. Chronicling the months from March through June, 2009, the film is produced with the full support of the Estate of Michael Jackson and drawn from more than one hundred hours of behind-the-scenes footage, featuring Jackson rehearsing a number of his songs for the show. Audiences will be given a privileged and private look at Jackson as he has never been seen before. In raw and candid detail, Michael Jackson's THIS IS IT captures the singer, dancer, filmmaker, architect, creative genius, and great artist at work as he creates and perfects his final show. Kenny Ortega, who was both Michael Jackson's creative partner and the director of the stage show, is also directing the film, which is being produced by Randy Phillips, Kenny Ortega and Paul Gongaware. Executive producers are John Branca and John McClain. The film will be distributed worldwide by Sony Pictures Releasing. For more information about the film please visit www.thisisit-movie.com.
Over 25 premieres...and not one of them is near me? Whatever...

Only ET's Kevin Frazier was behind the scenes of A&E's promo shoot for the upcoming Jackson reality series with Jermaine, Jackie, Tito and Marlon Jackson - for the first time since they laid brother Michael Jackson to rest. Has this tragedy brought them closer or torn them apart?
Watch the video for Kevin's take on the secret photo shoot - and find out what their shoot had to do with 'The Thomas Crown Affair,' 'The Talented Mr. Ripley' and James Bond!

Dateline to air "secret tapes" this Friday

I just saw the previews, I looked on their site but I can't find it on their site.
On the previews he said.
"all my success and fame I just wanted to be loved"
Still working on finding the link on their site, it does really sound like him in these tapes.

Edit:
Here is a story on the tapes...
Boteach to release book on Michael Jackson

September 21, 2009

WASHINGTON (JTA) -- Rabbi Shmuley Boteach will release a book based on his interviews with the late Michael Jackson.

Boteach conducted 30 hours of taped interviews with Jackson more than eight years ago that are said to reveal much about the singer's life, his views on celebrity and what motivated him.

"NBC Dateline" is scheduled to run a one-hour special next weekend on Boteach and the book, The Jewish Week reported.

“Michael loved coming to our house for Friday night dinners with his kids,” Rabbi Boteach told The Jewish Week.

The rabbi met Jackson about 10 years ago and struck up a friendship.

Boteach says that in in the summer of 2000, and for about 10 months, the two met regularly during the week.

“We started our conversations on Shabbat, the only day of the week with no intrusions or distractions," Boteach said. "He had nothing but distractions in his life; he was always so busy.”

yeah his opinion changes like the wind. another parasite that got into mikes life

Michael Jackson
He was talented, troubled, and red meat for tabloids. But the King of Pop was also seriously generous. The 2000 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records listed Jackson for the "Most Charities Supported By a Pop Star." Who even knew it was category? His total of 39 organizations included nonprofits ranging from the NAACP to Camp Ronald McDonald. In interviews I conducted with Jackson's Los Olivos Neverland neighbors soon after his death, they recounted quiet acts of generosity such as donating wheelchairs at a local school for kids with disabilities and opening up his ranch for school trips. His will instructed that 20% of his trust's earnings be donated to charity. It was a refreshing break from the sensationalism surrounding his life and death and a reminder that despite his troubles, the dude really cared about his neighbors near and far.

Ten notable amateur acoustic covers of Michael Jackson songs on YouTube

Over at the synthesizer blog synthtube, a list of notable performances on youtube "by average, acoustic artists who decided to cover Michael Jackson as a tribute to his death." Alex Ringis from synthtube says, "most of these renditions are notable not for their synthesizer content, but for the fact that when you lay most of Michael Jacksons' songs bare, down to something as simple as a voice and a guitar, you are left with the original songwriting that really he should be remembered for - pure, simple and brilliant, even at a very young age."

Above, "She's Out of My Life", a touching minimalist performance on Ukelele, by "seeso".

Wow, I'm impressed by how well the TII clip did, but I'm strangely unimpressed by Thriller. I thought it would be higher - 22nd sounds like a long way down the list. BUT I suppose this is 22nd out of ALL the clips posted on youtube. When you consider there must have been millions of clips posted, I guess 22nd is actually quite good! I wonder what the first 21 clips were.

Thanx for the news everyone.

Props to Bone Thugs 'N Harmony. I'm looking forward to hear it. This is gon be just the beginning of tribute tracks from many artists on their own albums.

Probably because videos from the "michaeljackson" Channel cannot be viewed by users from other countries due to copyright restrictions. I couldn't view any video on that channel except the ThisIsIt trailer.

Well I don't think the general public use YouTube for viewing music video clips when you could just buy the DVD and have the whole collection in amazing quality.

YouTube is used for viewing real random, stupid things. Basically videos you can't buy in store so Thriller at #22 for YouTube is incredible!
