The 1975 - The 1975's ode to Michael Jackson

The 1975's debut album will be an ''ode to cassette tapes and Michael Jackson posters,'' with all the elements of pop culture which have influenced them included.

The 1975's album will be an ''ode to cassette tapes and Michael Jackson posters.''
The indie foursome are planning to incorporate all their different influences from across their lives into their debut album when it comes out later this year.
The band's Adam Hann said: ''On the EPs there's a lot of elements of shoegaze, of that kind of dreamy pop element and then there's a lot of R&B.
''With the album the idea of that was to try and almost make a cinematic soundtrack to our lives, so there's quite a lot of 80s pop in there and it's kind of an ode to cassette tapes and Michael Jackson posters and the nineties and stuff like that.''

I've been reading a lot about this band recently and it seems they are taking every opportunity to acknowledge their love for Michael. The lead singer Matthew was recently asked at Glastonbury if he could see anyone perform, living or dead, who would it be and he chose Michael, saying that he had watched him on the HIStory tour and cried the whole time. The original video to their song 'Sex' is shot in a small rehearsal space plastered with Michael Jackson posters. They also did a 'My Playlist' show on BBC Radio 1, playing PYT by MJ as their first song and chatting about how much he influenced the band and when they finished recording their first album how sad they were to think how Michael would never hear it.

The 1975 are a four-piece from Manchester in the UK. Their debut album is released on September 2nd. They've opened for the Rolling Stones and their single Chocolate spent 17 weeks on the UK charts...
