Suspected Indiana Serial Killer ID'd: Lead Police to more Victims in Gary (link)

I was shocked at this too! But I've lived in Texas since I was 12 and that part doesn't surprise me. Aren't sex offenders supposed to check in?
But in Texas we have supposedly world famous medical centers and people still caught Ebola and had to be transferred out of state to be treated.
Pathetic.

I read the Chicago Tribune for more local details and this guy left Texas after being released from prison. He was originally from Gary and moved in with family (he was arrested for the Motel 6 murder at his sister's house). Depending on who is doing the reporting, he did register as a sex offender when he got back to Gary.

The pictures from the Gary neighborhood he dumped the bodies in look like a ghost town! Cities like that (that were heavily dependent on the American auto industry) bore the biggest brunt from the collapse of it.

Indiana has the death penalty too, so he probably confessed to the killings in hopes of avoiding getting that needle in his arm.

It's really sad that no good news have had Gary's name attached to it for years :( Michael would be heartbroken, I'm sure.

To be truthful, I don't recall much that was positive about Gary other than how it once thrived during the auto industry boom and being the hometown of the Jackson 5.

Gary was a pretty dangerous place even then, and with the Chicago and Detroit race riots going on so close by, it was no wonder Joseph pushed them so hard to get out of there. They were traveling and singing all thru that.
My first memory of Gary was the musical The Music Man and little Ronnie Howard belts out the song "Gary Indiana" and I always thought it was cool the Jackson's came from there. I was an adult before I learned what it was like in the 60s.
Sad. Sad.
