Hello,
I am new female fan who is infatuated by Michael Jackson as a person and as singer and performer.
His androgynous face and masculine body make look like a spirit.

He is so handsome and attractive to me. He is and will be the best singer and performer for all times.

But I am disappointed because I think he did not like women.

What is the psychology of a man who wears lipstick and shapes his eyebrows?

But really what did he think of women's role in the family? Didn't he believe that a normal family should include a wife?

I don't think he didn't like women. I'm unsure as to how you could come up with an assumption like that.

I think Michael was so free in his art and image that he didn't really distinguish the difference between what looks 'masculine' or 'feminine'. That's what makes him that much more admirable. It was never a gender thing for him. Well that's what I think anyway.

From what I know, he only expressed his wishes to have a family with a wife and children. He never really made it public what he believes technically a woman's role in the family should be. Although, I think someone as loving and accepting as Michael would respect all types of families and 'roles'.

I think, it is not rare for male pop singers to apply makeup on their face.

As regards girls, MJ was too shy (that’s why he gave that impression you mentioned):

Also, MJ was too selective on that matter:

Moreover, some other reasons seem to explain that lack of a traditional family when it comes to MJ:

Make up, shaping your eyebrows.. these things are not gender related, it's society/culture that makes those 'rules' and Michael was open-minded enough to see beyond them. Also being in the industry he was in, it's pretty normal for men to wear make up. I think his vitiligo had some impact in how much and what kind of make up he wore as well.

I think he would've loved to have a more traditional family, if that's what you mean, but unfortunately that just didn't work out for him.

Well, Michael was on stage from a very young age, and certainly saw people using makeup to enhance their appearance during his whole life. He was probably the most photographed man in history (including photoshoots, videos, press photographs, fan photos) so it is logical that he would have had advice from makeup artists from a youngish age, and would want to appear at his best at all times. I think the psychology of a male entertainer who uses makeup etc is probably the same as for a woman who wears trousers...it reflects a personality that looks for practical solutions to issues raised in their working and daily lives.

I guess he did feel that a 'normal' family (not sure that anyone has one of those...given the prevalence of step families etc) would include at least one wife, and of course he had two.

1) Whether he was effiminate can be a matter of subjective opinion. In certain ways he was (high voice, makeup, thin, elegant body etc.) but in other ways he wasn't (for example the way he moved was pretty masculine, his big hands and feet were pretty masculine, not to mention his big... oh well ). I actually don't think he was as effiminate as people think by first glance based on such things as makeup.


2) Whether you think he was effiminate or not has nothing to do with sexuality. There are effiminate straight and gay men and there are very masculine straight and gay men.


3) I think he liked women, but if he was gay that still would not be a problem. But I do not think he was.

During the Martin Bashir interview, didn't he ask them to turn off the camera once they asked him if he was gay, so they did but his own cameras caught him saying "I'm not gay, but I don't say that for my gay fans". Idk something along those lines?

Michael was not gay. If he was gay, I wouldn't have a problem with that. But people need to stop calling the man something he never claimed to be

There were more effeminate artists than Michael. David Bowie, Prince.. to name just a couple.
As far as not liking women, that's pretty much explained by all the hetro-sexual porn that was found.

I don't know which interview it was but I heard too that there was one this happened. There was also one interview or article from way back in the late 70s where he was asked about it and he said he was not gay but he knew the Jacksons had a lot of gay fans and he did not want to offend anyone. I remember that.
