School Project: Looking for a book that focuses on Michael's influence on American music & culture

Hey guys,

I have a school project that's coming up which is allowing me to pick a book on anything significant that has happened in the history of America. I'm thinking about doing my project on Michael if I can find a good book that focuses on his influence on American music & culture. (I am not looking for a biography). The book should have a considerable amount of substance, meaning that it should be at least 300-400 pages long (lots of text, not too many pictures). If any of you can help me out, please let me know. I need to make decision quickly! Thanks!

There are these two books, wich are a collection of articles about Michael's influence in pop culture. Not all articles are 100% positive but there are different opinions and are definitely not tabloid articles.
You can read the reviews on amazon for more details.

I read the first one mentioned above - it's a horrible book, basically a collection of social misconceptions about Michael Jackson.

I would recommend Willa Stillwater's "M Poetica".

Very literary analysis, very interesting and enlightening. The author talks a lot about Michael's significance for America and his influence on American culture, especially perception of race. The book is big enough, it easily accounts for 300 pages, however it only exists as Kindle edition.
