The title of the game is an intentional pun of an infamous front page headline in the mid 80's from the British daily tabloid newspaper The Sun, which read "Freddy Starr Ate My hamster"

The paper itself is also parodied in the game, as 'The Stun' in the publicity stunts. The sleazy tone of the 'The Stun' is identical to its real life counterpart.
