Requesting songs on streaming - WMCIG?

Hi all,

I read an article on BBC news the other day about a music fan who petitioned music labels to upload songs to streaming services. I'm wondering if we can do the same with MJ's estate. I would love to see What More Can I Give, We've Had Enough, Someone Put Your Hand Out, Wembley Live etc etc on Spotify, since they have all been released at some point commercially (even if very limited or on a compilation). I'd also love Dangerous Tour Bucharest. Has anyone had any luck getting other songs listed before?

All you can do is keep searching for it every week via the search box. Eventually it might get picked up by the person or the algorithm that monitors the queries. It might work or it might not.

That's the problem with not owning the music. You can only listen to what other people want you to listen to.

If you don't like it, buy the CD I guess. I'd always encourage people to take control. It's cheaper and greener, too.

I already have all the CDs but it would be nice if there were more accessible to wider audiences. I'm not sure Spotify would actively feedback to record companies which of their songs are being looked for. Maybe it's best to chase Sony

I emailed Tidal about not having the Michael Album on their streaming service in 2022. A few weeks later it was there.

I've asked about the Hollywood Throwback mix but that was no luck.

Apparently, there is no such feature.

There is only a feature of an one-way direction from record companies to Spotify (and not from Spotify to record companies).

Record companies can flag certain songs via a 'Discovery Mode' feature.

This flagging will then influence the selection of songs that Spotify's algorithm picks out for listeners.
