I've noticed our General Discussion thread has been piling on the negatives for the last week or so. Thus far, we've had a doctor who cuts babies and collects fetuses and feet, a soldier who rapes little girls, the grim news that over 22,000 children die every year, someone's family illness or some other unfortunate life event, a German porn star who died as a result of a botched breast enhancement surgery (my condolences to her family :( [happy, Alma? :p]), among other great and sad events.

In any case, that's all great and dandy, but a tad depressing. So, I decided that MJJC needs to have a positive thread in the General Discussion section for a change, so I made one. :3

My thread is the Reed Diffuser Appreciation Thread, for anyone who loves their reed diffusers. Granted, I am rather more a fan of incense, but we're not allowed to have it on campus, so a great substitute for that (and a natural one too) is a reed diffuser. My reed diffuser is lavender scented, and very, very pretty. It's a small, pyramid-shaped transparent bottle, which sits next to my portrait of Michael, and my yellow bamboo plant, named Vincent.

Every time I come in my dorm, I smell the lavender essential oil, and I think, "thank you, my dear reed diffuser, for making my dorm smell pretty." It makes me so happy to have it, because it gives my dorm room an essence of being a home space, which is very important to me because I haven't had a proper home in 10 years.

So, who else among us appreciates their reed diffusers and the love they bring?

They are nice. I gave one to my mother for her birthday but she hated it. So I got my present back and now my house smells like freshy washed linen. Very lovely.

Oh, well, at least you made good use of it. Does your mother prefer candles, or incense? Or does she like the artificial fragrance things you shove on the electric outlet? Perhaps she doesn't like strong smells?

My reed diffuser, named Ralph, smells of lavender. He's a very good reed diffuser, and gives me nice chemical reactions.

 How cute you have named it.

My mom doesn't like any strong scents. Except for maybe a cotton bag with lavender in it (to stick below a pillow).

Actually, I didn't name him. This Australian guy, Ross, did. I named my bamboo plant.

Ah, well then, that's why she wouldn't like it. Reed diffusers have a very strong smell to them.
