Hello, my apologies if a thread like this exists already.

I'm fairly new to burning DVDs and I've been trying my luck with a few that have been posted in 2000 Watts (with much thanks to those who've posted all of them).

However I do have a couple of questions that maybe you all can help me with:

1) In order to burn a DVD that is watchable in a regular DVD player (hooked up to a TV, etc.) the files must be VOB, right? Or something else?

2) The DVD I'm trying to burn now is the Jackson 5 Mexico 1975 concert. It's in 17 parts, I have it all downloaded, but the program I'm using to burn says it won't fit on one DVD. How do I split it up then if it's all one part?

Thanks in advance for your help; we have a new DVD burner on our desktop and I'm excited to use it ... just have to make sure I know how! :)

1) im not sure about that. i have burnt avi files as well. i guess it depends on the dvd burner.

2)if it doesnt fit on one dvd then i dont think u have any other option but to burn it onto two different dvd's. those 17 parts u have downloaded must be able to be played separately.

yes they do have to be vob files

If you get yourself the program Convertx2DVD that will convert your video files to playable vob files for you to burn and you can set the compression so it will fit on one disc.

You can also use dvdshrink which also compresses dvd files and can split them into two playable dvds too.
