question about .gif speed

I have a question for anyone out there that's good with .gifs. I recently made a small clip, but it keeps playing back in slow motion. I've changed the play back speed & then saved it, but every time I view the file afterwards, its still in slow motion. I've used both ImageReady and Animation Shop to try to fix it. I just don't get it. :mello:

However, the pictures might "feel" a bit slow motion if you have a low "frames per second" rate.
I use 9FPS for mine, which is almost too much (since the picture since gets larger).

I use a software called "Video Avatar" to make mine

I've changed the frames per second, but everytime I save it, it comes out the same speed. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, or maybe my computer just plays it back slow? idk...
