New Jersey born Funk guitarist Garry "Diaperman Shider of George Clinton's Parliament and Funkadelic and the PFunk allstars has passed away from Brain and Lung Cancer at age 56. He started playing for some Gospel greats such as Shirley Caesar,The Five Blind boys, The Mighty Clouds of Joy,ect.. then became one of the 15 members of the Doowop turned R&B funk group Parliament and the latter groups I have mentioned earlier.You can hear him on Flashlight, The Funky Worm and One Nation Under A Groove with his funky licks. He continued playing up to his death. What a great Funk Guitarist and He will be missed.
