Hey guys hope everyone is well this morning

Just want to remind people we do not allow the posting of photographs of Michael's children despite the fact that they are elsewhere online.

Now lets see what I can find for today ... looks like a batch of mentionings so far

What you didn't know about hamsters
By LANA BERKOWITZ Copyright 2008 Houston Chronicle

This year we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of NASA, the 70th anniversary of Superman and the 25th anniversary of Michael Jackson's Thriller album.
But did you know it's the 70th anniversary of the pet hamster's introduction into the United States?
Not too many have taken notice of the anniversary other than Rolf C. Hagen Inc., maker of Habitrail, which says it has "some exciting new hamster products.''
The American Veterinary Medical Association's 2007 pet census shows that hamster ownership is up 41 percent since 2001, date of the last survey. However, hamsters have dropped from fourth to fifth place in the popularity ranking. It may be hard to believe, but hamsters have been overtaken by turtles. The list is led by cats (82 million), dogs (72 million), birds (10 million), rabbits (6 million) and turtles (2 million, a jump of 86 percent). There are an estimated 1 million hamsters.
The Syrian hamsters, aka golden or Teddy bear hamsters, were wild in Syrian when a researcher captured a colony. In 1938, some of the hamsters were sent to a lab in Louisiana. A highway engineer won a hamster in a bet and set up a breeding farm to sell the animals as pets.
The feisty furballs have been touted as good pets for kids, but they are about 6 inches long and fragile. Children under age 6 should not be allowed to handle hamsters, and older children should be supervised by an adult, according to the ASPCA.
Plus hamsters are noctural, and most children aren't. Because they like to sleep during the day, hamsters have a tendency to nip when they are disturbed. However, you can listen to the hamsters scratching and running in their wheels all night. There's also the circle of life lesson your kids may not be ready deal with when their beloved pet dies of natural causes in two or so years.

Taylor Woodrow Joins the Superstars in Birthday Celebrations

Fifty seems to be the buzz word of the year with mega stars Madonna and Michael Jackson both reaching half a century and Cliff Richard currently celebrating his 50th year in show business. Joining the ranks of well known names is Taylor Woodrow de España, who also has something to celebrate - a successful 50 years of building quality homes in Spain.
London, UK (PRWEB) October 8, 2008 -- Whilst the others are famous for bringing music to the masses, Taylor Woodrow is known for making the dream of owning a home in Spain a reality. Its commitment to quality throughout its 50 year history has helped ensure its climb to the top of the property charts.

Victor Sagué, sales and marketing director, said: "It's fantastic that we're celebrating our 50th anniversary this year with so many well known names. We've mirrored the success of Madonna, Michael Jackson and Cliff Richard; starting off relatively unknown and slowly but surely building a loyal fan base of customers who appreciate our commitment to quality and ability to evolve and move with the times...

By Beth Hardie. Mirror.co.uk 8/10/2008
...Form Prince Charming to Prince Michael. Michael Jackson's son, his brother and sister Paris and Blanket have all been pictured out with their dad at a comic book store. No problem there except for the fact daddy ***** looked like something that had crawled out of the comic books. He was dressed in pyjama trousers, sweatshirt with the hood up, surgical mask and huge black sunglasses. Freaky...

Sony/ATV’s “Musical Notes” #26
A fortnightly newsletter highlighting some of the many classic songs in the Sony/ATV Music Publishing catalog.

From Alan Warner, Creative Consultant

***************

Welcome to Sony/ATV’s End Of Summer 50’s & 60’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Party!

31 Golden Oldies and the first artist up is…

Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels with whom Bob Crewe produced a series of smash-hit medleys combining uptempo rockers starting with JENNY TAKE A RIDE which samples Little Richard’s song JENNY JENNY and Chuck Willis’s C.C. RIDER. This medley single hit Billboard’s Top Ten chart in late January, 1966.

JENNY TAKE A RIDE! (Penniman/Johnson/Crewe)
By Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels (New Voice/WMG: 1966) US #10 Pop, UK #33

And here are 30 more Sony/ATV nuggets…

BIG BAD JOHN (Dean)
By Jimmy Dean (Columbia/Sony BMG: 1961) US #1 Pop, #1 Country, UK #2

This country record also lit up the pop charts, as Jimmy Dean told the story of a much-feared miner who gives his life to save others.

CATHY’S CLOWN (Don Everly)
By The Everly Brothers (Warner Bros/WMG: 1960) US #1 Pop, UK #1

Produced by Wesley Rose, this was Don & Phil Everly’s first release on the-then young Warner Bros label.

DOWN IN THE BOONDOCKS (Joe South)
By Billy Joe Royal (Columbia/Sony BMG: 1965) US #9 Pop

This typically (for Joe South) country-flavored song was the perfect vehicle to launch singer Billy Joe Royal’s career.

FARMER JOHN (Harris/Terry Jr.)
By The Premiers (Warner Bros/WMG: 1964) US #19 Pop

A garage band rocker, “Farmer John” charted for Latino band The Premiers. The song itself became a favorite with British bands back then including The Searchers who recorded it for UK Pye. Much more recently, in 1990, “Farmer John” was revived by Neil Young & Crazy Horse on their “Ragged Glory” album.

HOT ROD LINCOLN (Ryan/Stevenson)
By Johnny Bond (Republic: 1960) US #26 Pop

Hot Rod classic originally co-written by Charlie Ryan and recorded by him on three different labels.

I FOUGHT THE LAW (Sonny Curtis)
By The Bobby Fuller Four (Mustang: 1966) US #9 Pop, UK #33

Written by Sonny Curtis of Buddy Holly’s Crickets and recorded by them in 1959. Revived by The Clash in ’88. The late Bobby Fuller covered a lot of other songs including our Chuck Willis title “It’s Too Late”, but his biggest seller was this rocking jailhouse tale.

I’M LEAVING IT UP TO YOU (Harris/Terry Jr.)
By Dale & Grace (Montel: 1963) US #1 Pop, UK #42 (in ’64)

Successfully revived by Donny & Marie Osmond in 1974.

IT’S ONLY MAKE BELIEVE (Nance/Twitty)
By Conway Twitty (MGM/Universal: 1958) US #1 Pop, UK #1

Before Conway Twitty was a country star, he was a pop ballad singer. Billy Fury had a UK Top 10 smash with this song in ’64, Glen Campbell had equal success with it in 1970 and eight years after that, Child took it back to the British Top 10.

IT’S UP TO YOU (Jerry Fuller)
By Rick Nelson (Imperial/EMI: 1963) US #6 Pop, UK #22

By the time that this memorable mid-tempo ballad was released, the massively-popular teen idol Ricky Nelson had been re-christened Rick by his record label.

JUSTINE (Harris/Terry Jr.)
By The Righteous Brothers (Moonglow: 1965)

Before Bill Medley & Bobby Hatfield became known for their soaring ballad hits, they were blue-eyed soul rockers and this Don & Dewey mover fitted them to perfection.

KEEP A-KNOCKIN’ (Penniman)
By Little Richard (Specialty/Concord: 1957) US #8 Pop, UK #21

Little Richard, singing, playing the piano and firing on all cylinders!

LAWDY MISS CLAWDY (Price)
By Lloyd Price (Specialty/Concord: 1952) US #1 R&B

This is pure New Orleans gold…a sensational song superbly
crafted and vocalized by Lloyd Price backed by a powerhouse band including Fats Domino on piano! Covered by a number of artists over the years including Elvis Presley in 1957 and and Paul McCartney in 1988.

LIES (Crandall Jr./Charles)
By The Knickerbockers (Challenge: 1966) US #20 Pop

One of the American groups of the mid-‘60s who sounded very much like a certain Liverpool foursome!

LUCILLE (Penniman/Collins)
By The Everly Brothers (Warner Bros/WMG: 1960) US #21
Pop, UK #4 Little Richard’s rocker transformed into an Everly classic.

OH PRETTY WOMAN (Orbison/Dees)
By Roy Orbison (Monument/Sony BMG: 1964) US #1 Pop, UK #1

No matter how many times this record is played, it always
retains its freshness with that wonderful marching beat providing the perfect setting for Orbison’s double-tracked chorus and of course, his trademark growl!

ONE NIGHT (Bartholomew/King/Steiman)
By Elvis Presley (RCA/Sony BMG: 1958) US #4 Pop, UK #1
(in ’59) When first recorded by New Orleans guitarist/singer Smiley Lewis, this song referred to “One Night of sin” but Elvis’s version opened with the less controversial lyric line: “One Night with you”.

RIP IT UP (Blackwell/Marascalco)
By Bill Haley & His Comets (Decca/Universal: 1956) US #25 Pop, UK #4

More Little Richard magic this time rubbing off on early
rocker Bill Haley.

RUBY BABY (Leiber/Stoller)
By Dion (Columbia/Sony BMG: 1963) US #2 Pop

The Drifters initially gave this song chart success back in 1955. Dion drives it home even harder!

SEND ME SOME LOVIN’ (Marascalco/Price)
By Sam Cooke (RCA/Sony BMG: 1963) US #13 Pop

Sam Cooke’s pure velvet vocal floats through this John Marascalco/Leo Price ballad so effortlessly that you almost don’t realize how great his phrasing is. Little Richard had first recorded this song and it was issued as the flipside of his “Lucille” charter in early ’57.

SHEILA (Roe)
By Tommy Roe (ABC-Paramount/Universal: 1962) US #1 Pop, UK #3

Tommy Roe’s debut hit resonated around the world, not only because of his Buddy Holly-inspired vocal but also the record’s insistent, non-stop drumbeat.

SITTIN’ IN THE BALCONY (Loudermilk)
By Eddie Cochran (Liberty/EMI: 1957) US #18 Pop

Performed by Eddie Cochran in the 1956 movie “The Girl Can’t Help It” starring Jayne Mansfield.

SNAP YOUR FINGERS (Martin/Zanetis)
By Joe Henderson (Todd: 1962) US #8 Pop

Sounding not unlike Brook Benton, R&B singer Joe Henderson reworked this country ballad into a smooth soul experience.

THEN YOU CAN TELL ME GOODBYE (Loudermilk)
By The Casinos (Fraternity: 1967) US #6 Pop, UK #28

This has also been a country hit – several times in fact. But here The Casinos turn it into an doo-wop love song.

(‘TIL) I KISSED YOU (Don Everly)
By The Everly Brothers (Cadence: 1959) US #4 Pop, UK #2

Another Hall-Of-Famer single by Don & Phil and a further prime example of what an important instrument the drums have been in rock ‘n’ roll history.

TRAVELIN’ MAN (Jerry Fuller)
By Ricky Nelson (Imperial/EMI: 1961) US #1 Pop, UK #2

One of the biggest records in Ricky Nelson’s career and deservedly so.

TUTTI FRUTTI (Penniman/Labostrie/Lubin)
By Little Richard (Specialty/Concord: 1956) US #17 Pop
UK #29 (in ’57)

“AWopBopALooBopALopBam Boom”! This is the song that started the hits rolling for the king of rock ‘n’ roll dynamite!

VENUS (Marshall)
By Frankie Avalon (Chancellor: 1959) US #1 Pop, UK #16

Frankie was a major teen idol in the early days of rock and this was his biggest seller .

WOOLY BULLY (Samudio)
By Sam The Sham & The Pharoahs (MGM/Universal: 1965) US #2 Pop, UK #11

We didn’t know what the lyrics referred to but the record has such an addictive dance beat that we bought this 45 back in the 60’s enough to give Sam The Sham and his fellow Arab-dressed Texas garage rock band members a major transatlantic hit. Years later, Dave Edmunds cut his own version of WOOLY BULLY.

YAKETY YAK (Leiber/Stoller)
By The Coasters (Atco/WMG: 1958) US #1 Pop, #1 R&B, UK #12

One of Leiber & Stoller’s greatest hits which was a slam dunk for The Coasters, led by Carl Gardner and Billy Guy. King Curtis plays the awesome sax solo and drummer Joe Marshall kicks the song into high gear. And the bass voice providing the “Don’t look back” retort belongs to Will ‘Dub’ Jones. Revived many moons later by 2 Live Crew.

YOU WIN AGAIN (Hank Williams)
By Fats Domino (Imperial/EMI: 1962) US #22 Pop

The Fat Man had already struck gold with his cover of Hank’s “Jambalaya” so this track was a no-brainer!

SONGWRITER PROFILE:

DON AND DEWEY

Don ‘Sugarcane’ Harris (1938-1999) and Dewey Terry (1938-2006) were an R&B/Rock ‘n’ Roll duo who grew up in Pasadena, California, and were signed as artists by Art Rupe to his Specialty Records label and as writers to his Venice Publishing company. Don & Dewey recorded the original versions of three of their songs on the list above, namely “Farmer John”, “I’m Leaving It Up To You” and “Justine”. They also wrote and recorded “Big Boy Pete” which was a Top 10 R&B hit in 1960 for LA group The Olympics. In the mid-‘60s, Don & Dewey worked with Little Richard, playing guitars in his band both here and on one of his overseas tours.

What's "freaky" is the media still obsessed with a man that they hate. LOL. Nobodies.

I don't think there is anything freaky with that. If anything is freaky, it is the people like the media who always resort to name calling just bec. Michael doesn't dress up to please them! :( they don't stop, do they? *sigh*

Some of Michael Jackson's fans wonder whether the King of Pop is still living at his West Palomino Lane residence.

Michael Jackson fans who have been waiting for days outside his residence at West Palomino Lane are wondering if he's beat it.

Fans have regularly been camping out in front of the home more than a month, since word leaked here that a long vigil by a group of British fans paid off when Jackson signed autographs at the home on Aug. 29, his birthday .
The fans serenaded him that night and his security detail sent pizzas to the group.

Las Vegas attorney/food critic John Curtas, who lives nearby, said he drove by on Saturday morning and saw three young people with bed rolls.

About six weeks ago, Curtas saw a young woman carrying a wrapped gift wandering around the neighborhood.

"She said she was from Denmark and asked me if I knew what house was his," said Curtas. She was still there the next day, hoping for a glimpse of the pop icon, he said.

Two young men seated in lawn chairs were waiting across the street when I drove by shortly after noon Monday.

Both were from London, one of them said, and they had been there for five days, without a sign of any activity, other than two men who appeared to be working in the yard.

"I don't think he lives here anymore," said the Brit, who declined to give his name.

There have been rumors in the real estate community that Jackson was in escrow on another home.

YouTube gets into online shopping

YouTube, which has nailed the science of online video sharing, is now getting into online shopping by partnering with the likes of Amazon.com and iTunes.

The shop links will be just below the YouTube clips and will eventually sell a wide variety of items and merchandise related to the millions of clips on the site including: MP3s, TV shows, movies, concert tickets, books, maybe, even buy the designer sunglasses your favorite star is wearing in a clip.

So soon you’ll be able to buy the Michael Jackson song playing in the background while watching the hilarious clip of Filipino prisoners doing their reenactment of the ’Thriller’ video.

How will YouTube know if it’s a Michael Jackson song? Executives told Reuters they have a pretty nifty video and audio ID system that helps identify songs and video clips. If the song publisher or movie producer wants they can jointly share in the revenue from the advertising generated around such content.

Exactly. It is bizarre and freaky. They trashed him during the trial, trashed his children when they were simply minding their own business and the media calls MJ "freaky". They are the real freaks. Blah.

The Norm article was posted on yesterday's news thread.

You guys have to admit, It is freaky. I love the man and I know he does it to hide from the public eye, but if I saw a guy dressed like that in a dark alley, I would be scared.

Someone should make a comic book character based off of it, whether he be a villian or a masked hero. It would be cool to see some concept art, lol…

I live in New York City and can honestly tell you that you would have to do something way more DRASTIC then wearing a surgical mask to get attention in NYC. LOL!

Around these parts, you never know what's gonna happen and anything goes. Trust Me!

LOL. Please. You haven't been out more to see "freaky". You are too concern about this laughable media. Y'all still cannot get used to the fact that MJ is not gonna change for anyone. Neither is anyone doing "freaky" things. You need to ask yourself why the media gives a damn what MJ does?

How she could fil for divorce is one thing i will never ever understand.

She knew what time it was to file for divorce. It is all about timing.
