he should follow more of route like this if he wants his own musical identity

Much better than him covering the Jackson's songs, especially as he wasn't even in the band at that point or worse MJ's own songs...

That's more like it Jermaine. Create your legacy by doing your songs and not your brothers... :)

It is not a new released song [yet?], it has just leaked onto the internet.

His voice sounds just like Michael's the second time he says "forever".

Personally, I have my opinions about Jermaine. But nevertheless, I will buy a new album of his if he's got all his own songs on it.

This is a pretty song. I always enjoyed Jermaine's voice and music. I would probably support his album as well even though he has done some things that make me raise my eyebrows but no one's perfect.

So would i. This song is very beautiful. Very sad, but very beautiful.

Exactly. He should stay FAR AWAY from MJ's songs.

I wouldn't be caught dead buying ANYTHING from /by him, but I won't trash him for doing his own music.

Let's hope he finally got it.

Yes I like when Jermaine will perform his own music and not use Michael
but Im not a fan of Jermaine or any other Jackson. He just doesnt do anything
for me musically or other wise. but I wish him well in his endevours .

as long as he does his own thing without pulling a michael I don't give a damn

^*chuckle* :giggle:

Like I said in the other thread, it's something about this song......
maybe the repetitiveness that bothers me.However, the music and
Jermaine's voice are lovely.

Overall, not bad.

Jermaine Jackson Releases Whitney Houston Dedication Song

You can't make this stuff up. The tragic, untimely death of Whitney Houston has the makings of a script no one could write. On the eve of the 54th Grammy's, Houston was found dead in a Beverly Hills Hotel tub. To add to the "No one could write this script" concept, a song entitled "The First Time You Love," dedicated to Houston has been released exclusively on iTunes, and if you're wondering what part of this is unbelievable, the song was recorded before Houston's death, but the words sound like it was written the night she died.

Jermaine Jackson has the surreal distinction of being brother and friend to Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston respectively, the two biggest entertainers in the world gone too soon. In one verse of the new song Jermaine sings, "The first time you love, the first time you touch, the first time you see your love to be, the first time you feel what was once real is gone." Even his harshest critics are admitting to the moving nature of his vocal performance. Ironically, "The First Time You Love," isn't on a new Jermaine Jackson album, but rather the album of Atlanta-based veteran songwriter Dennis Ross III (Boyz II Men, Vanessa Williams). Ross tells Crusade Media, "We recorded the song and scheduled to release it directly to iTunes obviously before Whitney passed. The message of the song, and the fact she died on the eve of our scheduled release challenges logic on multiple levels. The response we're receiving from listeners is a testament to the honesty of Jermaine's performance. You can plan a lot of things, but you can't plan this." Ross said.

"The First Time You Love" performed by Jermaine Jackson can be downloaded on iTunes from the self-entitled album called "Dennis Ross III."

Jermaine Jackson Releases Whitney Houston Dedication Song

And if that isn't Jermaine trying to cash in on Whitney's passing...

Is that a press release from dennis ross rather than jermaine, it's difficult to tell. I really don't want to imagine jermaine wd do something so incredibly tacky, and i'm not even a fan of him. He did seem to be pretty close to whitney, didn't he allude to an affair in his book, so i really hope this press release didn't have his approval, the only quotes in the article are from ross.

It says right in the article that the song was already scheduled to be released today, it just so happened she died just before. And I had read weeks ago that it was supposed to be released yesterday. So Jermaine is not trying to cash in on her death. I really don't see anything in the article as being tacky at all.

I hate to say it, BUT I wouldn't put it pass Jermaine. I would never question his feelings for Ms. Whitney, but folks trying, TRYING, trying to be relevant, so in Jermaine's case it's a definite possibility, in my opinion.

Remember, we're talking about a guy, who had Larry King and his crew set up a television camera directly in front of Michael's final resting place in order to conduct an interview. That in my opinion was VERY tacky!

It is what it is, by ANY means necessary.

Can I just ask, even if this wasn't planned before Whitney's death, what makes dedicating a song to someone tacky?

Comments are interesting but ..
Boys to Men released the song NOT Jermaine .. its on their album .. It was already scheduled for release
maybe we should Acknowledge that FACT before attacking Jermaine

Dedicating a song to someone is fine and certainly a wonderful gesture, BUT we are talking about a member of the Jackson family here. LOL!

I can only speak for myself by saying that since Michael's death, their actions speak for themselves, and it's very hard to tell if what they are doing is a genuine act of kindness or an opportunity to advance their present situation.

I, myself, pick the latter, because that's what I have been shown from their past actions. It's just like the "Little Boy Who Cried Wolf." Is he for real or just looking for some attention?

Can mods delete this post (i mean my post)?
I posted video for Jermy's song before checking previous page, already posted there:)

Don't bother the other members.
Like they even care about facts.
They only want to blame, even if they don't know the facts,
Quiet ironic in my opinion.
We are Michael lovers aren't we, we know we have to know the facts before judging... GEEZ people!!!

To me, it smacks of self-promotion to promote your music on the back of the massive interest generated by a celebrity's death. She's not even been buried yet. As with mj's death, so with whitney's, there seems to be a massive cash-in with poeple getting their shine and attention in selling their stories/photos etc - it seems to be a mini-industry. So in this environment, people are entitled to feel cynical at attempts to grab some association with whitney to attract attention. It's a personal viewpoint, but i imagine it's shared by many, if you don't think it's inappropriate that's fine. And actually i was giving jermaine the benefit of the doubt in not being sure he was the one behind the press release.

Good luck Jerma. I wonder who he thinks about when he sings that song. I hope not Alejandra.

Re-read the title of the press release.

Why is his name even in the PR if it's not his song? The title then should read:" Boys II Men releases Whitney song....."
