Phantom:

Phantom released a ‘Michael Jackson‘ cover of Verbal Jint‘s “Good Morning“.
The three members of Phantom sang Verbal Jint’s song and mixed various parts of Michael Jackson’s “You Rock My World“, “Dangerous“, and “The Way You Make Me Feel” into the song. The video itself was filmed by the visual director of ‘The Lord of the Rings‘, making a video that was fun to watch and to listen to.
Lead singer Sanchez gained special attention because of his incredible voice. He had previously become Freddie Mercury when he sang Girls’ Generation‘s “The Boys“, and his transformation to Michael Jackson is also gaining much attention.

French alt-rockers Phoenix may have chosen the perfect name for their new album ‘Bankrupt!’ - after purchasing the same console used for Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ to help produce it.

The console was bought - for a hefty $17,000 - by the band’s guitarist and keyboard player Laurent Brancowitz, and was used in the studio at which superstar Michael Jackson created his megahit ‘Thriller’, which is undoubtedly one of the highest-rated albums of all time.

Brancowitz picked the console up on eBay from Clayton Rose, who owns a studio in California. It’s now being shipped to Paris for use in the production of the band’s new album ‘Bankrupt!’, Phoenix’s highly-anticipated fifth studio album set for a release this spring.

Speaking about the purchase to Pitchfork, the band said: “[We purchased the console because] we liked the idea of working with a consecrated artefact, as well as having something strange upon which to fixate between albums.

“The most mysterious part to me was that no one else - no nerd or music engineer or memorabilia freak - seemed to want it. There was something a little spooky about him [Clayton Rose]. He was very pushy. It seemed like a scam.”
