Hi,
First of all I want to say how sorry I am that Michael Jackson has passed away. I feel kind of dead inside at the moment.
I have been a fan since the Thriller days and remember clearly the hysteria that surrounded him in those days.
I remember when my first child was growing I had read that playing music to them while in the womb was a good thing to do. You can guess what music I played.
Headphones strapped to my wifes belly playing his albums that I owned up to that point. My wife was not too impressed but allowed me to do it.
I have tried over the years to get others interested in MJ and his music. I even paid for a bunch of people to go and see Moonwalker at the cinema just to get them to see what he was about. I must admit that none of them said anything negative about him after that. They loved the music on the big screen.
I have four sons. The oldest is 21, next is 19, next is 17 and my youngest who is coming up to 6 months old. His name is Joseph and my name is Michael. I have said in a with a twinkle in my eye to my wife that if we have another boy we should call him Jackson.
I am 42 now and still love Michael's music. My wife who has never been a fan has been brought to tears over the death of this gentle man who brought joy to so many people yet was hounded to sadness by many sick and twisted individuals on this earth.
I have had to deal personally with 4 deaths over the past 4 years. With the latest being my niece passing away on the 24th of June 2008 at 19 years of age. I was already in a very depressed state on the 24th this year and could not sleep for a few days. I had the tv on in the background on the 25th when the news came late that MJ had passed away.
I hope his family, friends and fans can at some point find some peace and can start to concentrate on all the positives that Michael Jackson brought into our lives.
