hey guys :) i got my MJ tattoo last week. its the drawing from the book moonwalk. although its not exactly like the drawing, im satisfied with it. but somehow it looks a bit empty...

normally i wanted to make it like that:

but a friend told me it looks confusing, but i want it only as a shadow in the background, i mean not so dark like on the pic....

i would like to know what you think about it....

I like the logo too...I say go for it...Shouldn't you have put the logo first? Just currious...?

i think it doesnt matter - and i just came to my mind when i had the other one already lolol.

so u think i should make it with the logo?

Yes, nothing ventured nothing gained...what does your tatoo artist think?

yeah of course. i just wanted to know some opinions from people who just look at it and say if it looks good or not. lol. i just want the drawing to be the main part

I feel like I need to educate everyone here on just what is possible tattoo wise if you spend a bit of time researching the correct artist.

I don't want to come across as an arse but tattoos are something I'm really passionate about, I know just how amazing a tattoo can look but not everyone is aware of the quality out there.

It's not MJ but look at how good everyone on here's tattoo could look!-

This is just a handful selection, the tattoo industry right now is packed with talent but it's also cursed with cowboys who don't give a damn about you or your tattoo and just want your money. Just because they call themselves a tattoo artist doesn't mean their any good heck a lot of them cant even draw on paper let alone with a vibrating needle puncturing bleeding breathing flesh. Ask to see portfolios! spend time searching online the end result will be sooooo worth it!

thanks for your answer and explanation but that was not the question here :)

Ok then my answer, my 100% honest answer baring in mind I just want people to have the best. Never go back to that guy, he cant tattoo the line quality is terrible its wobbly and goes thick to thin thick to thin. Putting the logo in the back wont work, you'll see that the logo was done after the line, then the 'artist' will go over the drawing again and everything will end up a blurry blotchy mess. Start again, a nice black trilby would cover that easy.

well anyway, i will see what i will do. in every case he has to work on it again. thats what i did to my last two tattoos too, after two weeks he tattooed it again to repair "wobbly" lines. and the results are good.

How can you trust someone who always does wobbly lines? The people I posted don't have to fix their wobbly lines, their work is solid full stop. You don't have to go back, your an MJ fan you deserve the best treat yourself after all it is permanent.

Wow...those all your tatoo's? Impressive...

Those are some fantastic tattoos!! :) The colours are vibrant and crisp, and they look like there's been a lot of work and care put into them.

Spunkyfunky, i have to say i don't think you should get the MJ logo behind...i'd get your existing tattoo perfected and leave it as it is :) What's the point in risking it being ruined? You'll then have to live with that.

those tattoos r sick, dawg! Lol

at the end of the day, it's all about what u want and what u think. do u want people to know it's mj? do u want it to have some sign. meaning?

here's my mj one, it was taken from peterpan but in the movie, he was sitting on a tree

PETERPAN.jpg

here's y u should always trust ur gut instinct...org. i was gonna get janet written under this tattoo but the artist said i should go w/ the jdj logo instead...look at the placement...if im wearing a tight t, it looks like breasts b/c the dots over the j's look suggestive....if uc an see the whole tattoo, then it makes sense. cover the top and then u'll see what i mean

JANETTATTOO.jpg

this one has sig. meaning. when my dad went to neverland w/ me for the first time and the kickass time we had! Lol i look at it and don't thnk of mj, i think of my daddy!

and of course, i had to support my fave group

I don't think the design you wanted would work
It might look good on the paper but not as a tattoo so keep it as it it. Maybe add some shading to the linework only.
