I just got the Michael Jackson for the record second edition and it is a very lovely book and there is one interesting part where Quincy Jones is quoted as saying that he had to tell mj to sing in a lower tone for rock with you because motown artists where told to sing at the top of their register, he also said that he had to convince mj to sing lower toned adlibs on DSTYGE. If anyone out there has knowledge about this can you please elaborate because id love to know more, and also was it a motown thing to speed up songs during a live performance, such as with Wanna Be Startin Somethin etc. DISCUSS!!
