Another Posthumous Michael Jackson Song?
Today 7:47 AM PST by
Josh Grossberg
Michael Jackson's music lives on…one leak at a time.
A snippet of "Another Day," a never-released track reportedly featuring the King of Pop and
Lenny Kravitz recorded before Jackson's death last June, has found its way online.
The seemingly unauthorized 90-second snippet first appeared on the fansite
MJ Star and shares similarities with "Storm," a tune off Kravitz's 2004 album,
Baptism. The Huffington Post
claims the song is a duet between Jackson and Kravitz, but in the fragment making the rounds online, the latter is nowhere to be heard.
While his estate has yet to confirm it's Jackson's voice (calls for comment were not immediately returned), it sure sounds like the real deal.
Kravitz himself alluded to a potential collaboration in a letter to
Spinner reminiscing about the time they spent in the studio together.
"I got to work with Michael on a track that has not been released and it was the most amazing experience I’ve had in the studio," wrote Kravitz. "He was funny. Very funny and we laughed the whole time."
Presumably "Another Day" is one of the many songs sitting in Jackson's vault waiting for the inevitable posthumous release.
"This Is It," the title track to the hit Jackson concert documentary,
was released last October.

The Library of Congress’ National Film Registry to Add Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”
In 1983, Michael Jackson’s legendary album “Thriller” shocked the music world with sales that shattered virtually every conceivable record. The album also spawned one of the most famous music videos of all-time and helped turn Jackson into an
entertainment icon.
Now, “Thriller” will become the first music album in American history to be inducted into the Library of Congress’ National Film Registry. This registry is an archive that maintains and preserves original copies of motion pictures and television programs for posterity. Located at the Packard Campus of the National Audio-Visual Conservation Centre in the proximity of Culpeper, Virginia, the conservatory will surely keep the Jackson memory alive for decades to come.
The aforementioned video, however, will not find its way into the archives any time soon. A lawsuit over royalties between the Jackson Estate and the video’s director John Landis has led to the scenario. In time, perhaps, the matter will be settled and the video can join its album in the archives of the registry.
“Thriller”, the album, was officially entered into the registry on December 30, 2009.

Jermaine Jackson Not Happy With The FBI
Jermaine Jackson
, the brother of the late pop
entertainment icon Michael Jackson, has been waging a very public verbal war with the
FBI
. His anger with the FBI centers on his annoyance with the fact that the FBI has only recently declassified files that it has held on the late
singer. The release of the files essentially show that the FBI “had nothing” (Jermaine’s words) on the singer. It is Jermaine Jackson’s contention that releasing the files while Michael Jackson was alive would have reduced a number of vicious rumors surrounding him.
Actually, it would have been a violation of the law to release documents about Michael Jackson while he was alive. A living person is considered a private citizen and must be protected under the United States’ privacy laws. Upon his passing, his FBI may be legally accessed. So, had the FBI released his filed while he was alive, the agency would have been open for a lawsuit.
