I remember back in the DAY, before i had a COMPUTER ...I had to get lyrics by...play. stop. (write down lyrics) rewind. Play. Stop. (re write lyrics ) on my cassette player

And i'd get ish like....

She was more like a beauty queen
from a movie scene
I sit up high on a jelly bean
Iiii am the one

 And funny thing i swear UP AND DOWN those are the lyrics and when i got on line...i'd feel extra embarrassed.

And it's REALLY bad when u like to listen to head phones and SING the songs extra loud. And u end up making up stuff, and u be loud singing "Deb da detda da da YOU!!!!"

So what are ur funniest misheard lyrics?

Sitting on a jelly bean lmao

When I was younger I seriously thought Mike said "As I turned up a pot of gold, my favorite winter coat..." on MITM.

Well, not funny per se cuz I'd do it on purpose, but when I took my pet for a walk, I liked to sing to him 'I wanna walk with you.... dance you into day...'

oops one thread moved. :p lets see what happens to it.

My mother thinks 'They Don't Care About Us' is called 'What They Gonna Do About Us'!

In TWYMMF, when he says "I feel your fever from miles around", I thought he was saying "I feel your fever in bars around"...

And in BOTDF when he says "She put you under, it's so insane", I thought he said "They gotcha under, it's all the same"

Oh I forgot about 'In The Back' :toofunny: -
'Why you wanna get me? I'm the king of lust forever'
I don't understad a word he's singing...
&

In Beautiful Girl...
"It's just (so) butt ugly can't you see that I'm in love?"

BEST. ONE. EVER.

Man, I had laughter tears in my eyes with this one! Simply hilarious!

haha! I posted a similar thread a couple weeks ago on a different MJ Forum. Here is what I had:

I don't know if you've also experienced this, but on some songs, unless I'd actually have Michael's lyrics in front of me to sing along, there were times when I could barely figure out what he was singing. So I'd somehow replace a certain sentence or word with what I thought I'd heard, even while knowing it wasn't making any sense. I'd just figure "Oh well". :nomention:

Well actually at that time I didn't speak English yet. But when I learned English and continued singing along my favorite songs from Bad or Dangerous, I realized something wasn't adding up :ermm:

A common exemple that comes to mind is in Man In the Mirror , where he says "And no message could have been any clearer" ... well, to me it sounded more like he was saying "and no moustache could have been any clearer" until it eventuallly dawned on me that I was uttering complete nonsense, but then I'd still say it by default of not knowing what he was really saying

or in Smooth Criminal, for some reason I'd hear "Annie are you walking , annie are you walking are you walking Annie?" instead of "Annie are you Ok..."

and then there's Black or White where for many years I always thought he was saying "I took my baby on a Saturday dance" and that he'd purposefully omit the "-ce", when acutally it was "I took my baby on a Saturday bang" ...

and further I'd say "The thing about my baby, it don't matter if you're Black or White" instead of "But if you're thinking about my baby it don't matter if you're Black or White" . Although this time it was grammatically correct (except for the slang "it don't matter") and though it could fit the context, I was way waaaaaaay off!!! :rollin: :rollin: :rollin:

And I'm not the only one, there's this guy who said that whenever he'd listen to Human Nature, where Michael is saying "why, why, tell them thats it's human nature" he actually thought it was "why why tell them that it's you and me Joe.

In Smooth Criminal, for many many years I thought that in the first verse, Michael was saying "ooga chi chi was an abo "
Don't ask me why; I don't know where the ooga chi chi or abo came from either, but hey, that's what I'd hear. What he was really saying is "He could see she was unable". Wow, what a stretch!

Here's a good one about Don't Stop Til You Get Enough, lol

About "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" here are the different comments I've found on Songfacts:

The chorus contains one of the most misheard vocals ever. The line is: "Keep up with the force, don't stop. Don't stop 'til you get enough."

I never understood the lyrics and, after having read them, don't believe the lyrics posted are correct. It just doesn't fit. Though I often hear lyrics differently than they are sung, to me it sounded like "Keep up with the four straws, don't stop 'til you get enough."

When I heard the song to me it was;"Keep on with the(something something)Don't sop 'til you get enough"...I didn't know what the heck he said!:D My brother and mu two sisters didn't even know what he said!

I always thought it was "Keep it up, baby don't stop. Don't stop till you get enough.

when i frist heard the song i thought it was "keep on with the fun stuff dont stop til YOU GET IT UP!" lol thats just wrong

Actually, I thought he was saying, "Keep on when the fun starts"

when i first heard this song i had no idea what the words were and i looked at the words and i still cant get the words right and i dont look at the book let so i just sing what ever i can remember!!!!

I actually thought he said "keep on with the boys and go, don't stop til you get enough." Sounds kind of funny when I see what the words really were.

I thought the line was.... Come on, you're a porn star! LOL How wrong I was!

I always sing the lyric "Come on! To the post drop!" I know it's wrong but I can never remember the real line ("Keep up with the force, don't stop.")

Actually, a friend of mine says it's "Keep On, Do the 4-Star Stomp"!!

When I first heard Beat It, I thought it was "show 'em how fu**ing strong is your fight". I didn't know much about MJ, so I didn't know that he would never have a song like that.

here's another one. when he sang
"Now I Believe In Miracles
And A Miracle
Has Happened Tonight" in Black or White, I always thought he was saying,:

"Now I believe in miracles
and I'm never gonna
stop in tonight"

also, I couldn't understand a word of Smooth Criminal :)

I remember my friend used to always sing "Debbie Rowe, Debbie Rowe" instead of "Demerol, Demerol" (Morphine)

Back in the day, my Dad used to sing to 'Wanna Be Startin Somethin'.

Instead of ma ma se ma ma sa, ma ma coo sa, he'd go 'This is my song, this is Michael's song'. He was being deadly serious as well!

When i first heard Bad, in the part: "Then wont you slap my face" instead of that i heard: " Then wont you lick my basement" (basement meaning his crotch...) :rollin:
I know that sounds weird... but thats what i heard:happy: :p

I just couldn't get the 3rd verse of Wanna Be Startin Somethin right, I was singing the 3rd verse like this:

Billie Jean Is Always Talkin'
When Nobody Else Is Talkin'
Tellin' Lies And Rubbin' Shoulders
So They Called Her My Promoter

where as the real lyrics are:

Billie Jean Is Always Talkin'
When Nobody Else Is Talkin'
Tellin' Lies And Rubbin' Shoulders
So They Called Her Mouth A Motor
