there was some fans who were kinda upset because after Michael's passing people started to embrace his music and some think MJ Albums wouldn't have never sold well if he was still alive which is the part I never get, B/c i've always saved the old new archives from mjfc where there's always been proof his music was embraced even when they media try to paint him as an artist who's not it


(26-12-2008) According to Hits Daily Double, Michael Jackson is one of the 20 best-selling artists in the USA in 2008. The list considers combined sales of all releases.

The #1 spot went to AC/DC who released their first album of new material since 2000 - which appears to have fueled a widespread desire to pick up the band’s previous releases. Michael Jackson comes in at #15 with a total of 1.4 million units.

17-9-2008) 'King Of Pop - Hong Kong Collection' is also a big success in Hong Kong and selling extremely well.

On the overall chart of HMV, which is a big chain cd store in Hong Kong, it reached #2 last week and is still on #3 this week. On HMV's Rock and Pop chart it even reached #1 last week and is still on this position this week.

And on the Top 10 chart of Hong Kong Records, another big chain CD store in Hong Kong, it also took the top spot.

7-11-2008) It was an excellent week for the 'Thriller' album! It jumped from #47 to #1 on the US Billboard Top Pop Catalog Albums chart after selling 31,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan (a 1,000% increase). This makes it the greatest gainer of the week on this chart.

The set is 2008's top-selling catalog album, having shifted 688,000 copies.

-2008) In the USA, Michael's 'Thriller 25th Anniversary Edition' is still selling very well with 49,795 copies being sold last week, placing it at #5 on the overall album slaes chart at Hits Daily Double. Thus, sales were as high as last week with even another +1% increase.

For comparison: 'Discipline', the new album of Michael's sister Janet, only sold 36,670 copies last week (-29%), dropping from #3 to #9.

(25-1-2008) According to SoundScan, Michael Jackson sold 648,340 albums and DVDs in the year 2007, with some significant sale increases from 2006. In comparison, Madonna shifted 392,440 units (including 'The Confessions Tour' release), Mariah Carey shifted 353,281 units (including 'The Adventures of Mimi Tour' release), Janet Jackson shifted 123,460 units, and Whitney Houston shifted 96,753 units.

Thriller album sales were up 86% in the year 2007. In addition, Number Ones, The Essential Michael Jackson, Off the Wall, Greatest Hits: HIStory (DVD), and Dangerous saw an increase in sales.
