I actually tried buying the vinyl on ebay the other day but got outbidded at the end! :( Anyone here lucky enough to have it? What a wonderful thing to own :)
 
I dont have the vinyl, but I have this on my computer :) So wonderful.. I might listen to it tonight before I go to bed :wub:

And it's on vinyl? Does anyone know more about when it was recorded and what it was for or anything?

It was released in 1984 Michael recorded it for Steven Speilberg and it also got a Grammy award for best story book, I have it on vynal and Michael is so cute reading that book I have gone asleep to it many times :) :wub:

Just listening to it again... it's a wonder.... I love it and thank you again for bringing this to the first page of the forum. It's bittersweet... but I try to focuse just on the sweet. What a man!
 
I have the album. It was probably my first Michael Jackson record of my own, aside from the J5/Jacksons/OTW/Thriller albums my dad owned. I listened to it in my room on my Fisher Price record player. I loved it sooo much, I knew the entire thing by heart! I loved his voice. It's sitting here on my bookself. I don't have a record player anymore, I'd have to go to my parents house to listen to it, but I'd never sell it. :heart:
 
OMG listening to this now makes me smile soooo much! I loved this thing, I really really did. He's saying things and I know what comes after that even though I haven't heard this in years! I didn't even think I would remember it that well.


He's SO into it. That's what I loved about it, he was sooo INTO the story he made me INTO the story. I actually hated the movie as a kid, it scared the crap outta me, the ending where they kidnap ET and put him in the tent and he's dying. I didn't like that part. :( But the record I could listen to and loved it because Mike's voice wasn't scary at all. I only saw the movie once in the theater, and probably didn't see it again until years later, but this record got played non stop.

I have this on my computer and ipod, I listen to this often while going to sleep. Michael's voice is very soothing.

I loved your post.... there are so many wonderful memories here. I didn't have any single chance to have this when I was a child, but I did remember watching ET on the theather and woww.. that was pretty scary. It was so sweet to read your memories... I think MJ wanted exctly that when he made this work: put a smile on your face and in your heart, especially on kid's face.

He did it.

He succeed. He is a winner :)
