The Instrumental of Unbreakable is taken from a Notorious Big song

Ive have always thought the same for this song and could be possibly where MJ got the guitar verse from.

He can hear GITM in there a little. Could be coincidence though.
I hear what your talking about but thats just coincidence.

I hear the bass line and see the similarities in them but I dont see that as being where MJ got it from.

This one is has long been known to have a connection.

There are 10000's of songs that sound similar.

I just can't believe that this thread doesn't interest more fans...

At lot of this stuff has been discussed on numerous occasions.

I have several others found like Stranger In Moscow and Il Volo (Zuchero)

i'll tell you about that...soon.

But would you really say that Michael was inspired by all these other tracks....? he's a bit more original than that don't you think? i realize that artists use a lot of inspiration from each other, but it doesn't seem like Michael made that a habit...

to me, he was inspired but you're free to believe it's a coincidence...

nobody knows after all...

i think he was inspired too...no doubt.....but i think a lot of it is coincidence....and you're right...no one knows for sure..

The chorus of Stranger in Moscow "how does it feel" is similar to : "Into each life some rain falls" of "up again" from MJ himself...

The Feel in "Up again" reminds me "Stranger in Moscow" but with more hope

Wow... I did knew about the black or white one... But not about "give in to me" and "unbrekable!"

Yep I can defently hear them in the songs. Biggie Smalls Beat is sick. Nice beat mellow.
I can hear Unbreakable in that song.

I think it has a lot to do with people over using the synth instead of organic instruments...especially in the 80's.

The Beat of TWYMMF is very close to this one too

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Hj8YcqKWEE

This is not very close. It's down to coincidence and overuse of synths popular at the time. One Step Closer doesn't have a shuffle beat.

Thriller is clearly inspired by Off The Wall - not Rick James.

Up Again only has very, very slight resemblance to SIM chorus vocals.

BoW doesn't have a sample of Hurts So Good. It sounds kind of similar, but it's not the same at all. BoW has more similarity with State Of Shock.

Give In To Me is definitely a coincidence there - these do happen, especially when the sounds are slight passing resemblance. There's lots of those.

DSTYGE though - Marvin Gaye.

^^^Then you clearly don't know me at all, Loka. Too hasty in your judgement and neither did you specify what exactly you disagreed with.

DSTYGE is Marvin Gaye inspired.Down to the use of glass bottles for percussion. LOL!

Thriller has been noted by many people for it's strong similarity to OTW.

BoW being compared to State Of Shock isn't new - that's been noted since 1993.

Clutching at straws ain't gonna get you anywhere.

Morphine...inspired by Nine Nails' Downward Spiral.

If you're really good, you should have noticed long ago the similarity in the final 3rd of Money with DSTYGE's final third. Ahh, the days when folk discussed this one indepth on Max Jax months ago.

Here's a little cookie:

The string section and choir in the Jacksons The Hurt sounds like it has somesimilarity to the string and choir sections of Who Is It. Pointed out by arxter on Max Jax where we have an indepth thread linking MJ's music with other pieces of music in different ways.

i wasn't talking about that...

I was talking about your denial of all these tracks :

Billie Jean and the doors, Black Or WHite and John Mellencamp, Give in to me and Suicidal Tendencies...But it doesn't matter.

Interesting thread . I've heard about Billie Jean, Give In To Me, Black or White and Thriller. The other stuff is new to me .

can someone tell me why the best threads don't interest the average fans ?

this one is an example...so bump.
