As far as i know, 2 most famous MJ imper. are Navi n Ben Jackson. How do u think about these two? and do u have any fav. MJ imper.?
One more, is there any MJ imper. here? I m a MJ imper. myself so i really want to improve my skills in dancing
Hope to have your feedbacks

I don't want to offend you but I don't like impersonators. What's the point? No one can dance exactly like Michael.

I don't like impersonators that much tbh but ecasanova is the best I've seen.

okay... I've known a lot of MJ Impersonators... Navi, Santisi, E casanova, Valentino,... Some only 'copy'... A lot don't bring the 'full package' ... A lot don't have the same MJ attitude but there is ONE MJ Impersonator that has won my heart...
That's... Christ'OF... My bright star, C*ke...
Yep, our very own Belgian MJ Impersonator... He really blows your mind... Its so confusing, scary but soothing and healing too to see him perform... He sings LIVE... He dances magically... He has a 'radiant' aura... He's such a sweetheart :cheeky: Just like Michael...

I used to be 'sceptical' about MJ Impersonators too but once you get to know them 'personally' :cheeky: They are just like us... A fan that wants to pay tribute... A fans that wants to preserve the legacy of MJ... A fan also grieving and wants us to 'heal' ...

I don't like impersonators. Making money using someone else's repertoire, moves and style instead of coming up with your own thing is just..... disappointing.

Unfortunately, most of them abuse their position and take advantage of (female) fans who unfortunately cannot see past the MJ imitation. They act all shy and soft-spoken and these fans go coo-coo over them, saying things like "oooh you're just like MJ". Wait. 'JUST LIKE'? As if you know Michael personally? And as if you know the impersonators personally? It's an ACT, girls. See through it! I've seen female fans call impersonators 'gorgeous' while they've never even seen the impersonators without makeup. That's just weird.

No matter how much they claim to be 'spreading Michael's message', all they do is think of themselves and their bank accounts. Their prices have gone way up after Michael passed, and it's sickening. If you really want to spread Michael's message, if you really want to pay tribute, perform for free. Or even better: take off the MJ outfit and do it as yourself. Just my opinion.

It really hurts.. i must say.. well, how can i explain this.. (my English is not so good)
I agree that "Making money using someone else's repertoire, moves and style instead of coming up with your own thing is just..... disappointing." Yep, disappointing but if only u could know these MJ imper. practise so hard to master MJ dancing style. n if u consider this dancing style as others like popping, locking, etc.. it's nothing wrong 2 perform 4 money

it really is. there r so many MJ imper. after MJ's death, n many companies hire them 2 perform. First thing first, being a MJ imper is not just about putting a fedora on, wearing a millitary outfit n do the moonwalk. For me, being a MJ imper is to deliver the MJ's spirit into your dancing moves.. But be mercy, i've seen many ppl interested in MJ music after they watch performances of these MJ imper..

I know some impersonators, one I have performed with in the past (NO MONEY WAS MADE) and of course I respect the hours they put into practicing, but it does not give them a right to use Michael's name to make rediculous amounts of money. Indeed, there's nothing wrong to perform for money IF YOU'RE NOT IMITATING SOMEONE. Then you're being original, then you're making money for something you created. Simply copying Michael's appearance, his show, lip syncing and hitting on girls who are too dumb to realize that looking like Michael from the use of layer upon layer of makeup does not mean you're him/have the same personality as him is just...pathetic. These fans annoy me, btw. Do not ever think an impersonator is 'like Michael'. It's an act. Anyway......

Of course. If the above is your reason for wanting to impersonate MJ; to introduce people to his music WITHOUT MAKING MONEY then by all means, do so. It's the making money and using Michael's name and everything he has come up with show-wise to do so that really disappoints me.

All in all I just think impersonators unfortunately can not live up to their own claims; they will never be like Michael and some fail miserably in trying.

Artistically, I like Earnest Valentino most.
I was most shocked about Daimyo Jackson. I saw his show in a disco a few years ago and it was just ugly! He was constantly getting girls on stage, making naughty poses with them. It was so disrecpectful towards Michael. And that, I think, is the most important requisite for an impersonator: To represent Michael with respect and dignity!

Well said, artistically.

Daimyo has been arrested for smuggling drugs a few years ago (2009 I think), I remember reading about it. I know what you mean with his behavior, I've seen him misbehave on fandays.

tu_michael1985 I think this must be the Christ'of he is talking about

Christ'Of's promo video

Christ'of singing "human nature"

As to impersonators earning money - that's a tricky discussion - 'cause ofcause the performance should be about a respectful tribute to Michael, but performing a good respectfull tribute can cost a lot of money - depending on what side of Michael you want to show. and diffinately if you want to show all sides. Michaels magic dancing, Michaels beautifull costumes, Michaels magic shows will cost you a lot of money to pull of. I personally enjoy the most, them who can deliver the songs vocally, not necisarilly sounding like Michael, but really can deliver the vocals in a beautifull way

I agree that Daimyo uses Michaels name for the wrong reasons - and I feel free to judge him for that, but what else he does while not impersonating Michael, is really not our business.

It is, when he brings Michael into it. He sat in court with his hair styled like Michael's (with the curls covering his face) and asked the judge to be mild on him because he is an MJ impersonator and if he couldn't perform as MJ, he couldn't pay his bills (to which the judge replied he shoulda thought of that sooner ).... ;)

Anyway, I'm just not a fan of impersonators and how they behave in general. Speaking from my own experience, 99,9% of them use what they do (which is impersonating Michael) to take advantage of fans. But, having said that, it's up to fans to not fall for that.

I didn't know that. hehe... yup the the jury is right - he really should have thought about that sooner (just like everyone else should think of the conseguences of their actions)

I do think the whole impersonator thing has got a negative tag to them due to the stupid ones and that is not really fair.

True, but then again almost ALL of them have done things that are negative....

Ecasanova is a good impersonator and so is Taalib York from Who's Bad. I have heard good things about Amir Sharma as well and I am friends with a couple of casual impersonators (who mostly perform for free) as well.

I don't think it's a bad thing that they pay tribute to their idol and they obviously admire him to have watched him so extensively in order to copy many of his dance routines.

Taalib York or E Cas for me. Navi is ok but his attitude smacks of arrogance to me.

Yeah, E Cas is incredible. He acts, he sings, he dances
Just like ppl's attitude to MJ, some hate, some love MJ imper. but rarely anyone can deny their efforts n contribution, rite? :)

^ Agreed. The ones who have had surgery to look like Mike particularly freak me out.

yes... that's a little scary (or creepy would maybe be more suitable) I wonder what mike would think about that - I know that would scare the hell out of me

He has met a number of his impersonators as you know. I'm sure he would be surprised yet flattered.

Also Michael wouldn't have allowed Navi to perform at his birthday celebration if he didn't like the guy.

That comment doesn't make sense. The birthday thing was organized by (a) fanclub(s) and Michael was did not pick the performers. Most of the impersonators have met Michael, but I doubt Michael stayed in contact with ANY of them, despite them claiming he did.
