But the guy who actually owns the slab isn't willing to sell...

TMZ reports that Michael Jackson's family is trying to reclaim a special slab that contains Michael's hands and footprints, but the man who owns it isn't willing to sell it.

This impression was made in 1984 for a Las Vegas hotel, which had commissioned the piece for a "Walk of Fame" exhibit in front of the hotel. The exhibit never came to be, and the slab was auctioned off years later. A man named Andy Wilson was the big winner.

The Jackson family is trying to reclaim the slab, saying it is the rightful property of Michael's estate. They are even willing to pay $25,000 for the item, but Wilson is willing to wait until he gets a better deal.

Story makes no sense as the estate is not the family. if the family want it they can buy it. or the fam want the estate to buy it. why does the famik,ly want it anyway?

I am fairly sure that this is the slab that was for sale through auction about a year ago...the family could have bid on it then!
As far as I know, it did not sell...presumably it didn't reach its reserve.

Is the family slowly realising that if they are going to back a 'Michael' museum, they will need to have some exhibits to put in it?
