I don't know if this was post or not please delete it. Michael Jackson (THIS IS IT MOVIE SPECIAL) will air on MTV October 27, 2009 at 8:30 pm est and 7:30 pm CST.
 
do you know what kind of movie special??......It is talk about the Movie??.....Thanks for the post..:)

I guess MTV will show MJ rehearsal on the movie. I saw the information on my TIVO guide.

They are making this a big deal! All these red carpet events, premieres around the world. This has the potential to be the biggest entertainment event of 2009. The soundtrack and movie are all coming out at the same time. MJ will return to the charts again. I can't wait for this saga to begin next week.

Yes^^ I think I read that there are going to be 15 (correct me if wrong) premieres around the world simultaneously,and the LA premiere is 'Homebase'
 
MichaelJackson.com will stream red carpet coverage live at 7PM EST on the 27th.
 
I can't wait for Tues. to come! Going with a friend to the midnight premiere! :D

Neat. I will watch the premiere in LA...then head to the midnight showing on the east coast.

Doesn't look like it will be on here in Germany, according to MTV.de's schedule tonight. I really hope someone in the US/Canada records and uploads for the rest of us sometime :( (Please?)
 
Can anyone confirm if this is on in the UK? my onscreen guide says it isn't,but it's been wrong before!

Thanks for the heads up! I'll watch it, but if they show too many previews I haven't seen, then I'm turning it off. Don't wanna spoil the movie! :D

Michael Jackson just moonwalked back in time a few hours.

Movie theaters will show the Jackson musical documentary "This Is It" as early as 9 p.m. PT on Oct. 27. Sony still has the Kenny Ortega-helmed pic officially slotted to open for a two-week run in more than 3,000 theaters on Oct. 28, dubbing its night-before performances "advance screenings" in about 2,000 locations.

Advance ticketing for all of the domestic shows begins Sunday. Sony also will distribute the film simultaneously in more than 80 international territories.

Sony also plans more than 25 premieres of the film around the world, with 15 or more of the premieres to be staged simultaneously on Oct. 27. In Los Angeles, a premiere will kick off at 6 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Nokia Theatre in downtown L.A.

"Michael Jackson has an army of fans everywhere around the world," said Sony worldwide marketing and distribution chairman Jeff Blake. "By rolling out this film with simultaneous premieres and special advance screenings on Oct. 27, we are giving audiences an incredible opportunity to join together in celebration of Michael Jackson's incredible career."

"This Is It" will feature rehearsal footage and other behind-the-scenes clips shot in advance of Jackson's intended monthlong concert series in London. The documentary project was announced in the aftermath of the singer's death on June 25.
