Rumours are rife that the Jackson family – particularly LaToya and Jermaine are being courted by Simon Cowell for either X Factor UK or USA.
Inside sources, working for a European version of the show reveal: “Simon has always wanted Michael Jackson to star in his show. It was an ultimate goal. He was very close in 2009 when Michael’s people got in touch with Simon to talk about Diversity, Shaheen Jafargholi, George Sampson and Signature. Michael was interested in featuring them in his show. Sadly, due to his untimely death nothing came of it.
Now Simon is looking into working with his family. It’s especially LaToya who has his interest. She is a bit like Paula (Abdul), but has that Jackson name.
She is known around the world and is breaking out more and more.
She is very popular on reality shows and her guest judging spots on America’s Next Top Model and RuPaul’s Drag Race have proved very popular.
Simon thinks she is perfect. Then there is Jermaine Jackson, a name that still gets the headlines and would guarantee people tuning in, just to see what he has to say. All Jacksons would be perfect: well known names and no-one will question their musical knowledge. They were raised as musicians. Know their craft, know what they want from singers and are able to judge the performers on their dancing as well.”
Interesting. A lot or names have been touted for the job including Whitney Houston, which Simon Cowell revealed himself. But Latoya has been linked to American Idol a few years ago and said she’d really love to be a judge for a talent contest. It would be great to have her on the show.

They'd both be terrible choices for judges, particularly Latoya. I've seen her guest judge on Rupaul's Drag Race & America's Next Top Model and she didn't bring much value to either panel. I think she'd be just like Paula & Nicole (too concerned about being liked to offer constructive and honest feedback). They already have 2 men on the panel so I doubt Jermaine is a serious contender.

Though I would root for Randy to be a judge (just to futher confuse the masses about whether he's that guy from american idol lol)

Yeah, right. No way would Simon want them on. It would be like admitting he doesn't have any clout anymore. You go from offers to Mariah, Whitney (R.I.P.), Beyonce, etc. to Latoya and Jermaine?

Janet is the only one I could see him going to.

Janet would be the most reasonable choice since she's the most famous Jackson after Mike & is still very much popular and her siblings are hardly relevant in the music biz anymore. She's not the best singer but she's had an ongoing career in the music biz for more than 25 years.

Oh please not LaToya and if it has to be then please not for the UK version. I just couldn't watch it.

I don't think we'll be seeing them two on the panel anytime soon, I think Jermaine is more likely but LaToya, I couldn't see that at all. Janet is the most likely but I doubt she would do it, although it could be great for her career if she did (J.Lo American Idol?).

Toya will do anything if €£$ is waved in her face. id expect better from cowell in getting real artists onboard so maybe this is others courting for a pay day

1. April Fools day must've come early

2. Simon Cowell has much more sense than this.

If looking at it from a purely "who would be the most entertaining to watch" angle, Latoya would probably be the Jackson family front runner. She's coocoo for cocoa puffs and I'm sure she'd say plenty of stuff that the rest of the world could make fun of for weeks to come. The problem is that she's not taken seriously by anyone in the music industry and her trying to make Michael references would get old really quickly. Janet may be the bigger star but I never really thought she had an interesting enough personality to be the kind of judge they need.

I think maybe this article was planted by Team Latoya to generate some buzz for herself, I honesty doubt Simon even has enough respect for her to offer her such a position.

for real? :ermm:

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, I do not know why, but when I read the first part of this "we have heard" report^^ I had to laugh. We see Latoya is breaking out. Well I must thank them for bringing some amusement into my life.

So let me get this straight:

The Voice has Christina.

American Idol has Jennifer Lopez.

And Simon Cowell is "supposedly" interested in LaToya Jackson. LOL! I believe it's fair to say that Mr. Cowell would be laughed out of the business.

As to Jermaine Jackson, in my opinion, he WASTED way too many years waiting for Michael to join him on stage again, to be taken seriously now. If not in front of the camera, he should have done something behind the scene, anything that would have kept him relevant in the music business. I mean, what the heck was Randy Jackson doing before he got the American Idol call? I'm not saying Jermaine would be X-Factor level, but he would dang sure be in a better position then he is now, in my opinion.

This could be a good thing for Jermaine, but I don't think La Toya is mentally stable and I don't think she would get through the pressure of it all.

As unlikely as it might sound to have Jermaine judging X Factor, lets not forget that Simon Cowell brought in Steve Jones to host last year; so anything is possible.

As they already have 2-men on the team of judges, in my opinion, neither Jermaine Jackson nor The Man In The Moon, are up for consideration at this point.

Since they dismissed 2-women, I would say that they will be replacing those 2-women, with 2 NEW women. No males need apply for a Judge's position at this point in time.

That's a good point, I didn't think of that. I think the most likely person to become a judge is Mariah Carey and I'm not sure about the other position. (Although, according to this article Simon Cowell has said he is not after A-Listers for the panel, so does that leave a seat for La Toya? I hope not. http://www.entertainmentwise.com/news/69112/X-Factor-USA-Judges-Will-Not-Be-A-List-Stars- )

I really have no idea for who the host will be. I think UK X Factor presenter Dermot O'Leary is a perfect presenter but I'm hoping he will stay here because we might be left with Steve Jones. :p

In my opinion, Simon Cowell is blowing smoke and will NOT be the final decision maker. I mean, he didn't even want to axe Paula (or so he said - LOL).

He is up against "The Voice" (very popular show) and "American Idol" (another very popular show), he's gonna have to come BIG, BIGGER and/or HUGE, if he expects to stay in the running.

I agree with you on the Mariah tip. I also think it would be a wise career move for her, considering the new additions to her family and the fact that these talent shows alsol afford a Judge the opportunity to showcase their OWN work. She could sing new music on the show and release a new video on the show as well. A whole lot of showcasing without all of the moving around from place to place.

The Host of the show, I have no idea, I don't even know who Steve Jones is. LOL! Where did he come from?

Ha ha ha ....they probably made up that story themselves. hoping the headlines will attract Simon Cowell's attention.

^^ Yes, got to be a jatail press release. Simon's gone off the boil a bit in the running of his tv empire, but he's not lost all his marbles yet.

The Host of the show, I have no idea, I don't even know who Steve Jones is. LOL! Where did he come from?

He presented a morning "scheduling shot" on a TV channel in England on Saturdays and Sundays. Basically he, along with a few other people, introduced the programs coming up, and sometimes had guests in between shows whether it be an interview or musical performance. So he wasn't very famous over here when he was announced as X Factor USA host. It surprised everyone.

Yeah, including dermot, i think he was hoping for the us gig. Anyways hope he's not the one to replace jones in the us, i like dermot on the uk show.

After what happened with Cheryl Cole, I don't think Dermot will risk leaving the UK version.

I agree. I think he needs to get someone no one would expect to judge a talent show. I was very surprised to see Steven Tyler judging American Idol.

Here's a fun little fact:

X-Factor (USA) is a partnership between the show's creator Simon Cowell AND SONY MUSIC. LOL!

It's hard for me to keep up with the on-going drama, but didn't Ms. LaToya include Sony on her "Bad People" list, or is that list only made up of John Branca and Randy Phillips? As I said, it's hard to keep up.

 This basically says "MICHAEL OWNS YOU ALL" *evil eye*

Wouldnt it be interesting if Simon decides to put both Latoya and Janet in the show? Since they need 2 women judges, I think it would be interesting to see their POV! :D

Haha that sure would be interesting.

If La Toya was chosen, as unlikely as it sounds, I think she would be on the UK version. In my opinion, there is no way Simon Cowell would add La Toya to a show with struggling ratings.
