"Michael Jackson IMMORTAL" nominated in Billboard Touring Awards

The top achievers in the touring world will be honored at the 10th Annual Billboard Touring Awards, hosted by Gary Dell'Abate, aka Baba Booey, executive producer of the Howard Stern Show, and set for Nov. 14 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York.

Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, One Direction, Luke Bryan, P!nk, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift, and the Rolling Stones are among the finalists for the awards, which are primarily based on box office numbers reported to Billboard Boxscore from Oct. 1, 2012 through Sept. 30, 2013.

"The live music industry remains on a strong growth path, in large part due to the effort and creativity of the tours, artists, venues, events, executives and companies represented as finalists for the Billboard Touring Awards," says Billboard's Ray Waddell. "By basing the majority of these awards on Boxscore data, as opposed to some sort of popular vote, the Billboard Touring Awards has, over the past decade, been the true mark of achievement in the live music space."

The finalists for Top Tour, based on Boxscore gross, are Bon Jovi's Because We Can Tour, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band's Wrecking Ball Tour, and Michael Jackson Immortal, while the finalists for Top Draw, based on Boxscore attendance, are P!nk's The Truth About Love Tour and once again Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi.

The Top Package Award goes to the top-grossing tour with three or more artists on the bill, and includes the following finalists: Jay-Z & Justin Timberlake Legends of Summer Tour with DJ Cassidy; Kenny Chesney'a No Shoes Nation Tour with Eric Church, Eli Young Band, and Kacey Musgraves; and the Taylor Swift Red Tour with Ed Sheeran featuring Joel Crouse, Brett Eldredge, Florida Georgia Line, and Casey James.

The finalists for Top Boxscore, which recognizes the highest-grossing single engagement by an artist for the time period, include P!nk's The Truth About Love at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Aus., and a double nomination for the Rolling Stones' 50 & Counting Tour engagements in London and Chicago, Ill. Finalists for the Breakthrough Award, which honors an artist in their first decade of headlining who cracked the top ranks of top tours for the first time, are Bruno Mars, Luke Bryan, and One Direction.

Apart from the Boxscore-related awards, the Billboard Touring Awards also include the Concert Marketing & Promotion Award, determined by a panel of judges, and the Eventful Fans' Choice Award, determined by online fan voting. In addition, George Strait will be named 2013 Billboard Legend of Live.

"The Fans' Choice Award for Best Concert Tour of the Year is the only award determined by fan voting and Eventful is thrilled to power this award and give the fans a say in this prestigious industry event," said Jordan Glazier, Eventful's CEO."

The Billboard Touring Awards will also debut this year will also debut the Shell Rotella Haul Of Fame, which celebrates the hardworking trucking and touring community from the music industry's Top 10 Haulers of the past decade. The class is determined through analysis of Billboard Boxscore with input from artist managers, tour managers, production managers, producers, and other touring professionals. Shell Rotella will welcome the following inductees: Bon Jovi, Brad Paisley, Dave Matthews Band, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, The Rolling Stones, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, U2, and the Vans Warped Tour. One of these inductees will be named Live Music Hauler of the Decade.

"The Shell Rotella brand is excited to again be part of the Billboard Touring Conference & Awards and to shine a spotlight on the trucking, van and coach companies that work hard behind the scenes to help America's top artists conduct their tours," said Chris Guerrero, global brand manager, Shell Rotella. "In fact, with this being the 10th anniversary of the Conference & Awards, there is no better time to highlight the top tours of the last decade. We look forward to welcoming these iconic groups and tours as inductees into the Shell Rotella Haul of Fame and to celebrating their contributions to the touring industry."

2013 marks the 10th anniversary of Billboard's Touring Conference & Awards, taking place on November 13-14th. The conference unites today's top touring professionals to discuss the current state of the industry. Guided by Ray Waddell, this unique event includes provocative panels, productive roundtables and networking opportunities with touring industry power players and decision makers.
