Michael Jackson Candid Video Blog?

OK first off to crush ALL your hopes and dreams, no, there is not one that I know of. This is simply an idea I had and wanted to present. Who knows, maybe someone who is "someone" ie: works with MJ or knows him, will relay this idea to him and he can mull it over and decide to do one.

I was talking to a friend of mine who showed me this video blog of the new up and coming pop star girly Katy Perry http://katyperryblog.tumblr.com/ and thought to myself how cool it would be for Michael to do one of his own to share little tidbits of himself with his fans. This would be a really nice way to get more fans, for one, and help him to be more understood.

I was reading some threads and whenever someone who knows Michael says something or gives a little story about him that is personal and a true story, fans appreciate it so much. It endears him to our hearts that much more.

Also I know that it makes one feel less lonely to share things about ourselves to other people, and maybe if he did that, it could help him out in that way. People who watch his video blog would also, most likely, be more open to relating to him as a regular person instead of separating him and putting him on a pedestal where he is to be worshiped and Screamed at, or judged wrongly for how they THINK he is, based on false things they had heard from anywhere but his mouth.

I don't think these would work if it weren't somewhat personal though. He would have to come out of his shell some for it and share some of his private life and thoughts with us. He could use it as a platform for his passions though as well such as the Oxford speech. It could be a great thing as long as it is something more than "I love you more" etc. Not that that isn't important... just that it wouldn't work if it were the only thing said on a video blog. He could do something whenever he felt like it, or at a set time. Just 5 min would be plenty. He could talk about anything he felt like discussing at the time.

So what do you all think?

Pros and Cons to this idea?

Although I wouldn't mind it, I don't think it would necessarily suit Michael and his public image. Michael's presence seems too, I don't know the word, regal? Plus, he's never been the type to really expose himself that way, besides LWMJ, which we all know how that ended up. He's always been reclusive and a lot of what he says gets taken the wrong way, unfortunately.

With this new "era" coming up, we should just see how he promotes himself. I don't think something like video blogs is necessary, especially for someone in Michael Jackson's category. Again, I wouldn't mind it as a fan. More than anything, I think it would make better relationship b/w Michael and his fans. :)

Funny you should mention this. I was going to add in my original post that many might think that he is "too good" for this, but in all honesty I would even appreciate seeing Princess Diana's boys doing something like that and they are royalty too. It is a way to get out ones opinion honestly. Why does he have to be completely untouchable? Why does he have to always be larger than life? People mention him doing an unplugged, smaller concert.. this would probably be like that. LWMJ was bad because it was in another persons hands. This would be in his hands, at his discretion, whenever he felt like it. He could do it MJ style by kicking it up a few hundred notches I suppose.

It wouldn't be because someone in his category NEEDS this. It would be more because it could be something enjoyable for both him and all his fans. Being taken wrong is a possibility but the more he put out there of himself, the less chance he'd have to be taken wrong because people would be more familiar with him.

I suppose if he would rather stay the untouchable, misunderstood icon, then that's fine too. Larger than life has worked on some level till now, but if he really is "Simply Michael Jackson" as he has mentioned, then this would be a good way to show that.

That's always a fine selling point right there.

How about this?

Create a blog and compile all stories of Michael Jackson fans from all around the world that had the chance of meeting Michael Jackson. It could also include videos, artwork etc. This method could also be a really nice way to get more fans and help him to be more understood.

Traffic for blog is not a problem for Michael Jackson fans. ;D

Promote on Technorati, blog directory etc.

Ape, I am with you in that I would really enjoy seeing Michael do a video blog, or hell, even write a blog for that matter. Especially since I am a fan. I do believe it would be a big pro for MJ fans. They would eat all of his words up in a hot second. And yes, it does give us a chance to grow closer to the person we hold so dear to our hearts. I do believe Michael might like it too, showing his fans some thoughts every once in a while. And I do like that you said it would be on his terms, whenever he wanted to do it.

As much as I would love it, I would be very afraid if something like this did happen. I would be afraid he would become too accessible to not only fans, but also to those who criticize him and might not understand what all he is about. You know what I mean? If he did do a video blog, you KNOW it would be on ET, Access Hollywood, E! News, Inside Edition, The Soup, TMZ, and many other shows like them. I would be afraid they would bash him even more for whatever reason. I guess what I am saying is that it could possibly backfire. That would be a huge con.

On the upside....I love the idea Rebirth just posted. A blog to be created to get fans who have had certain MJ experiences that no one has particularly heard of. All in one spot. At least, that is what I think you were trying to say, Rebirth! Correct me if i'm wrong.

Score 10/10! Yep, a good translation of my babbling. Thank you. lol.

I think its a great idea, if Michael were to do one every few months or so...just enough to keep fans informed of whats going on, what he is working on, ect. I think too much though wouldn't do him any favors.

I would like it, of course. Good idea. But when he comes "out of his shell" several people get to know his weak points and will make fun about him. They know too much and that makes him vulnerable. Think on the Bashir interview for example. I don't see that there is any gratitude for sharing his thoughts.

Listen to his music, he tells us so so much. We have our own lives. Michael shall not live for us. There is not one other artist who is that close to his fans. I know so much about him, things which other artists never share (even when I was fan for years I knew I didn't know anything). Many show nothing of her privacy and thats why they get through.

Personally, the whole LWMJ was too contrived for me. I mean don't get me wrong, it was GREAT to see him interacting with his kids, being out and about etc.

But I LOOOOOVED Personal Home Movies. Yes Michael kinda showcased it but it was HIS footage, not an interview or a "come into my world" sort of documentary. It was Michael and his people goofing around with a camera. Michael and his brothers, Michael and Mac, Michael running around at Neverland, and on and on.

I ate it up lol. Michael wasn't presenting himself in the footage, it was just him with his guard down.

I don't know if he'll put something else out like that again (I wish lol), but I figured that phm was as good as it'd ever get.
