It's possible, around 1966. He was not Elton John yet, he was the keyboard player of a band called Bluesology and at that time the band was hired to back several artists like The Drifters, the Ink Spots, Billy Stewart, Doris Troy, Pat Labelle and the Blue Belles amongst others.
^^ In 1966 The Jackson's were unknown and didn't have anyone opening for them. I don't even think Michael was even performing with J5 yet at that time. Elton was coming up about the same time as J5 - and was very popular. I don't think he ever opened for them though.
