Well, hello everyone!!

This is my first thread, and I think this is an interesting topic which I want to discuss with you a bit.
I was fascinated and really surprised by how Michael admired and treated children, I mean, he felt one of them and I don't doubt it...
So I want to know more about that, how did you feel when you saw MJ visiting hospitals or inviting the kids to his ranch?
Why do you think were his reasons? but most import of all, what do you think about Michael's way of thinking, (so cute and childish)

Important Note: I am not refering to you know what horrible things the tabloids said about MJ and children so please don't even mention or think about that >

I can understand why Michael gravitated toward children. He felt most comfortable with them because children didn't demand things from him or wanted to take advantage of him. Michael was a childlike and playful person on one hand and also the mature ultimate professional on another.

Michael not having a childhood definitely had something to do with his need to be around children. He wanted to do childlike things like have watergun/water ballon fights, play games, and just be a kid which he COULD NOT do with adults. So yah, he was just a big kid that wanted to relive his childhood.

BTW, I'm a woman in my late twenties and I tend to gravitate towards children at gatherings and parties because I've always loved children. They're just so much fun to be with and it's wonderful watching them play and learn new things. Children are so innocent and very loving.

As for Michael's generosity and compassion towards children and children's causes. . . he is just the prime example of someone who cared about people. He said that he and his siblings got that from their mother, to care about others who are less fortuante. He made an example of himself. If a child in need did not have a voice, he became their voice to help them. By visiting sick children in hospitals and orphanges, he led the way for the Angelina Jolies, Madonnas, Brad Pitts who today are getting so much recognition for their work with these causes. But what about Michael, who was so passionate about humanitarianism and gave back time and time again in such a huge way.

Anyways, Michael's compassion and generosity is legendary. He just wanted to make people happy, especially children and I admire and applaud him for that.

Personally I think children should have lots of love and attention as they are the future and god knows we need to improve this world and we need to make sure kids have lots of love, morals and good values at an early age to develop into level headed kind adults. I think Michael saw the state of the world and knew that the children are the future.

Hi! There is so much to discuss regarding Michael and children, but I really think that Michael's Oxford speech from 2001 tells us a lot about his thoughts about children, and so much more. It is really, really beautiful. Have you read it or listened to it? It will take your breath away. I think we really get a good sense of Michael here...he is childlike in some ways, but he is CLEARLY an adult and a smart, articulate, thoughtful, and charismatic one at that. I also like the speech because it shows me how he had overcome or begun to overcome many of his "demons" from the past through reflection and maturity, and "work" that was almost certainly very difficult for him (as all deep, emotional, psychological "work" is for all of us). It is a very challenging speech, as well, which he clearly designed it to be.

So Michael was a pioneer in the charity causes? wow, I like that, I saw him visiting hospitals and I knew he had a record on charities...but you are telling that he also led way to other people to do so...O_O Great
