"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

I don't think the general public is listening to what he's got to say now. As far as I know, Kanye's been cancelled. His wife left him, and the companies he was a spokesman for dropped him., & his Twitter/Instagram has been suspended.
Sadly he still has his fans. When he drops something new they'll walk back the cancellation. That's the funny part, cancellation isn't real. Only being blackballed is, and they've blackballed many people. MJ almost feels like one most days.

It depends. I hear Bill Cosby is planning on doing a stand up comedy tour. At this point, I wonder what places are going to book him and how much of an audience is going to pay to see him. Also I haven't heard much about Rosanne Barr after she got fired from her own show and it was retitled The Connors. Today's generation is different from the ones in the past. That's why the Christmas song Baby It's Cold Outside had a new version with the lyrics changed, because they think the original version has "rapey" lyrics. It's doubtful stuff like All In The Family or Blazing Saddles could get made today. It's also why today Disney won't do anything with Song Of The South (nor will anyone ever see the original version of Fantasia). It's never been officially released on home video except in Japan. Disney even recently got rid of the Splash Mountain ride that is connected to the movie.

Are you guys planning on watching this biopic? I’m on the fence on this one. I do hope it’s great.

Dunno, would love for it to be great, but there's so much that could go wrong that I'm really on the fence as well.

Lot of things can go wrong, but lot of things can go right also. People may finally get to see the non-media side of Michael and some might finally see through all the lies they have been told. I hope they handle topic of vitiligo tastefully.

Haha get real, by the time the promotion and hype ramps up with tv spots, trailers and interviews and preview screenings you will be drooling with anticipation, it is going to be a blockbuster event, everybody will talk about it…

100% yes!

It could be brilliant if done right and be a big game changer for MJ's legacy (in a positive way)

Seeing as it's in collaboration with the Estate, there's not any reason why as a fan you wouldn't want to go? Unless you have an agenda against the estate or because it's just not the real MJ.

There will be no bigger release than this for the fans. Look what Bohemian Rhapsody (film) did for Queen.

Of course I will. My friends are surprised that MJ doesn't have biopic. It's a terrible mistake.

I will no doubt see this as soon as it get to the cinemas.

If it's good I wanna see - if it's bad - I want to see it to have my own opinion about it and not just some second hand idea of what went wrong.

So I am surely going to see it yes.

If people say it's good I'm watching it on the cinema, if not, I'll wait for the digital version to come out. Movies are going from cinema to streaming pretty quick nowadays, it shouldn't take more than a couple of months.

I just don't see any way you can do his life story in 3 hours. They should milk this for all they can and make it a Part I and Part II.
You can't even do the first part of his life in my mind. But that's the job of a director, directing. I say leave the holes intentionally so if you want more, watch this, this, and that documentary.

Maybe you start in 1980. The disappointment in awards for OTW due to race. The high of the Thriller era. The Pepsi incident and addiction to pain killers, onward.

Maybe... That's still skipping a lot tbh. Like I'm not expecting a Jacksons biopic, and we already got a pseudo prequel still. But I figure at least the basics.

And yet, Jaafar is the only one we got. Like, literally all we get is OTW/thriller, based off the most Conventional estimates.

I was thinking about this earlier. The furthest he can realistically go is Bad…but the 90s was arguably the most important decade when you are looking a balance of highs and lows. If they don’t include the allegations it will be accused of sidestepping it, if they do include it…I don’t know how that works with Jaafar. And I don’t think hiring a white guy to play a black guy works.

They just bleach his skin I guess.

They made a big purple guy on cinema, they can accurately simulate a skin disease. It doesn't even take much but a depigmentation effect.

No, it's not going to work. MJ did not look Caucasian.

They will just use makeup to make him white.

I'd start the movie at the time he met Q and end with the acquittal.
Will Smith could play Joseph.

They're not going to do this with a theatrical biopic. Movie studios only do that for stuff like Harry Potter & Marvel. The only way to do that is a TV movie.

The Temptations (2 nights)
The Jacksons: An American Dream (2 nights)
New Edition Story (3 nights)
Bobby Brown Story (2 nights)

So basically New Edition got a 5 night movie on BET because both the NE & Bobby Brown biopics had the same actors. I guess that is between 8-9 hours without the commercials. It was originally going to be a biopic for theaters, but the group eventually decided it wouldn't work that way. The group members were behind their movie.

During Michael's trial, the best and most popular news outlets slandered and mocked, glossed over and twisted the facts.
Lying is a very profitable business. They have made, are making, and will continue to make a lot of money from slander.

Do you think many of those who used to slander will now promote the film for money?

I'm not trolling. Just wondering.

Depends if they decide good money is better than bad money.

The closer the biopic gets, the more we have to expect a new dirt campaign. I really hope that the creators are armed (Graham, King. Logan, Fugua, Jaafar and in interviews aggressively with knowledge, facts and conviction refute the allegations. I really hope that the film will deal with the subject, even if the media will try to dismiss it as whitewashing by the estate, they would be doing that also if none of this was in the film (the black side is blanked out). So it is a great opportunity to shed light on the subject for interested filmgoers.

The Official Michael Jackson Biopic is currently in pre-production.
Since the confirmation a biopic about the King of Pop’s life in 2021, the Estate confirmed that Jaafar Jackson will play Michael.
Today, GK Films just posted a picture of Prince Jackson entering a Production meeting for the movie.
We also know that the filming will start this year as Prince Jackson cancelled his annual “Thriller Night” in October to allow a film crew to enter Hayvenhurst, the former Jackson family house. Also confirmed that some of the filming will take place at Neverland Ranch.
