Award winning choreographer and new full-time judge of the hit show, "So You Think You Can Dance," Mia Michaels recently spoke in an interview with reporter Michael Langston Moore about Michael Jackson's influence on her life. When asked the question, How did Michael Jackson's career influence you both personally and professionally, Mia responded:
I never met him personally. I met his sister and family.
Yes, of course, back in the day with “Thriller” and “Bad” and all of those...I mean, his videos were what we waited for to come out because they were mini films. When we got the previews we were like ‘Oh my God!’ It was a big deal.
Back then...it was just...it was awesome. And it was a very inspirational time with dance. Yes, he was a huge inspiration from his style to his charisma to his performance.
He was everything. Back in the day he was everything. How could you not be inspired by the King? It doesn’t get much better than that, you know?"
