So after being frustrated with my PC, I am happy to say that I am a recent Mac convert (just bought my MacBook Pro yesterday).:punk:

Still figuring out how to use it, but there are some functions that I still don't know how to do (for example, in Windows, I was able to click the "Home" button to go to the beginning and "End" to go to the end of a sentence).
Anybody know how to do this on a Mac? And any other tips & tricks that we can all share?

Hold the key next to the space bar on the right (with a little apple pic on) whilst holding either the left arrow (for home) or right arrow (for end)

YAY I have a mac (mac-book pro actually, not the newest one though) too and I love it. I even named her, Duchess Victoria.

And...a question for any of you shifty pirates. :chris: I downloaded photshop from a torrent and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get a crack for it. Every one I found only works on PC. Anyone figured this out...? I'm dying without it.

I named mine Bubbles :)

As for Photoshop, try this:

Do you know any sites where I can get Illustrator and InDesign?
It sucks 'cause I have the 13-inch Macbook Pro which doesn't come with a graphics card so it'll suck with Photoshop.

Although there are still some things I'm trying to figure out, I'm totally in love with my Mac (Bubbles!)

I love how we can just go "swoosh" with our fingers across the trackpad to go back to the previous webpage or to go forward to the next...

I think when it's time to upgrade I am so getting a Mac. I just hear so many great things about it and I hear their operating system is so much more stable than Windows.

I love my macbook. I don't know how i got along all this time without it. Ive had it for a year now...

I have an Apple iMac & there's a noticeable difference between Mac's & Windows PC's. Only downside of Mac is that there's not as many free programs available. For those who like to make graphics etc., there is a freeware program called 'The Gimp' which includes most of the features in Photoshop.

Yeah, it definitely is great. I still sometimes use my old Toshiba laptop just because I am so used to it. It takes some adjusting to a Mac, but it's been great so far. Just a hassle having to look for free programs to download.

Not true. Even cheap ones are only a fraction of the price of photoshop. Macs are just better. I got my first Mac in 1992. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. Now I am on my 24" iMac and lovin it!

Still want a Macbook Pro though... and an iPhone.

Installing any non legal software or cracks is the shortcut to bypassing the secure system that is OsX. It is very well known that installing any of these WILL infect you. Do a google search.

The only infections you can get on a mac are user installed always.

There are enough free and legal applications out there for the mac so no need to resort to non legal means.

I've been using Macs for two years now. I actually like using computers now as opposed to back when I use using a shit-box made of plastic and full of Microsoft software and using a computer was a chore. I have an aluminium iMac. Btw, it's full of illegally obtained software. Does no harm whatsoever to my system. Still runs perfectly. I am saving up to upgrade to one of the new Macbook Pros. I love my iMac but I really need a portable system. I just wish they weren't so expensive. That's my only complaint about Apple.

I find it disturbing that folks here are willing to admit that they steal software. Ah well thats up to you and none of my business. I guess as long as its not MJ's stuff its ok to steal. ;)

However I still stick by what I said regarding Photoshop CS4 and the other known one is iWork for infecting a mac with a trojan.

Also they don't affect the running of the computer.

Cheers

I just bought a MacBook Pro last Saturday. Loving it. Never had one before but used one a lot at uni so I've not found it too hard to adjust lol. Got fed up of my windows laptop freezing all the time. And I only bought that a year ago! I'm hoping this will be a bit more reliable.

Yeah, my old one always froze... Overall it's been easy for me to adjust. There are some little stuff I need to work out. Will have to look up some site for new Mac users...

Yeah, I jumped the broom in summer 2006 (wow, it's been 3 years this month) and I can't think of a reason I'd go back now. No viruses, intuitive user-friendly navigation, no viruses, no spyware, great keyboard, and did I mention no viruses or spyware?!

I have a very true and loyal black Macbook that's been great so far. I must admit last fall the hard drive died, but Apple (w/ applecare) replaced it without any hassle whatsoever.

Admittedly, I sometimes visit Apple stores looking over the new crop of macbooks and whatnot (why does Apple do that to people?! Always dropping new, fabulously updated products). But, I can't afford a new one anyway right now, so I'm gonna be content with my good and faithful servant (which remains unnamed. You guys have got me thinking about it now; I've always named my cars, but never my computer...hmmm)

Gotta love a Mac!

Hey, I've been having annoying problems with MSN... I can't sign in sometimes.. Anybody else have this prob?

I'm never getting a PC again. Once you get your first Mac, you'r never letting go, I think this happens almost with everyone. I got my Macbook in June 2008 and been in love with it since then.

We have now three Mac's in our household and one PC. Guess if that poor PC ever gets to be used again? No way.

Do you use the MSN that's downloadable from Microsoft's site? Try Adium. Not sure if it's going to help but I use adium and have no problems at all.

Keep an eye on ebay for Office for the Mac. My mate bought his for £30.

Like a lot of folks I moved to the Mac after many years on Pc's. There is no way I will go back to Windows anymore. My main Mac is as fast as the day I bought it.

Cheers

Thanks for that! I will do, I kind of begrudge paying the full price of it. :bugeyed But I need it so...I dunno. Will keep an eye out on ebay.

It drives everyone crazy because they cant read the time on it :D

Although I'm a diehard fan of their machines, one thing that I take Apple to task about is their ad campaign against PCs. I found most of it to be of questionable taste. If your product is so superior (which I believe it is), why the need to hit below the belt?

I respect Microsoft for not responding in kind.
