I just thought about this song by coincidence the other day, and it hit me - how incredibly well this song represents the current situation... It's so sad :( I mean, I really believe in little "signs" like these, I guess you can call me superstitious. I don't think it's a coincidence "Gone too soon" matches Michael's life and death so well either :(

Anyway, the lyrics. Just replace "baby" with "Michael" or "brother" or whatever, and it could easily be a song written by her for him. I think the whole song fits perfectly, but I bolded some parts I think really stick out as "this is for Michael, no one but Michael".

There are times when I look above and beyond
There are times when I feel your love around me baby
I'll never forget ma' baby
(I'll never forget you)

There are times when I look above and beyond
There are times when I feel your love around me baby
I'll never forget ma baby
When I feel that I don't belong
Draw my strength
From the words when you said
Hey it's about you baby
Look deeper inside you baby

(Bridge)
Dream about us together again
When I want us together again baby
I know we'll be together again 'cause

(Chorus)
Everywhere I go
Every smile I see
I know you are there
Smilin' back at me
Dancin' in moonlight
I know you are free
Cuz' I can see your star
Shinin' down on me

(Makes me think of Michael's lucky star in Moonwalker...)

(Together again ooh )
Good times we'll share again
(Together again ooh )
That makes me wanna dance
(Together again ooh)
Say it loud and proud
(Together again ohh)
All my loves for you

Always been a true angel to me
Now above

I can't wait for you to wrap your wings around me baby
Wrap them around me baby
Sometimes hear you whisperin'
No more pain
No worries will you ever see now

I'm so happy for ma baby

(Bridge)
I dream about us together again
When I want us together again baby
I know we'll be together again 'cause

(Chorus)
Everywhere I go
Every smile I see
I know you are there
Smilin' back at me
Dancin' in moonlight
I know you are free
Cuz' I can see your star
Shinin' down on me

(Together again ooh )
Good times we'll share again
(Together again ooh )
That makes me wanna dance
(Together again ooh)
Say it loud and proud
(Together again ohh)
All my loves for you

There are times when I look above and beyond
There are times when I feel you smile upon me baby
I'll never forget ma baby
What'll I give just to hold you close
As on earth
In heaven we will be together
Together again

(Chorus)x2
Everywhere I go
Every smile I see
I know you are there
Smilin' back at me
Dancin' in moonlight
I know you are free
Cuz' I can see your star
Shinin' down on me

 I've always loved this song. Now it has more significance. I love it so much!

Yeah, same here. It's one of the first songs (and videos) I remember really loving. I was 6 or 7 when it came out :) And I agree, it has so much more significance now. And though it's sad, it also makes me feel kind of optimistic and at peace.

i was thinking about this song the other day too. it's really beautiful.

I've always loved this song (both versions of it)...it now carries more significance now that Michael has passed..

Yeah it really does fit the whole situation with Michael passing. I know it wasn't written about him, but the lyrics fit him perfectly. This song has taken on a new meaning for me now and I bet for Janet as well. I've listened to "Together Again" so many times since MJ's death. Everytime I hear it, it makes me tear up but smile at the same time because it has such a positve outlook on death and the afterlife. It's really a beautiful song. I've always loved it .

I wonder if she'll dedicate it to him the next time she sings it live..

This is a lovely song I haven't heard it before. It makes me a little sad.

Yes I love that song too. The lyrics fit perfectly to this situation and Janet singing it makes it even more special..
That music video is one of the first I remember watching.. My sister was huge Janet fan in the 90's and she sang that song with a coce bottle as a microphone and we videotaped it  Oh I wish that tape still exists somewhere..

Haha same here, I used to pretend I was Janet Jackson and sing that song :p I must have been about 4 or 5, it's the first song I know off by heart.

It makes me feel a bit old now LOL but I was 13 when it came out LOL I learned the dance to it and I loved the song from the very first secong I heard it.

Now it has a whole new meaning to me and it's difficult to listent o it without hasving tears in my eyes, but it's such a positive song, it helps.
