My friend asked me to make a collection of those songs because he thinks those are the best songs recorded by Michael. I just can't find a complete list anywhere...

There's a massive amount. His writing credits spanned from Blues Away to Best of Joy, and there are many tracks which we don't even know about, hidden in the vaults. He's credited for eight of the ten tracks on Michael (everything except HMH and AD). Then there are his poems, handwritten lyrics, material recently registered by the copyright office, songs he wrote for other artists, songs which evolved into others... For example, Much Too Soon and Learned My Lesson are registered as two separate songs, when in fact they are the same.

I'm sure there's a list of released material he has writing credits for (for solo songs at least), so I'll try and find one.

^There's a lot more than that, isn't there? Maybe not solely written by him alone, but he has writing credits on about 3/4 of his released songs. I remember looking it up not too long ago.

EDIT: I just saw the part in the title where it says "solely", my apologies.

Be not Always was also solely written by him.

Wasn't the P.Y.T demo also written by him?

According to Wiki: "The original demo version of the song was written by the Jackson and Greg Phillinganes."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P.Y.T._(Pretty_Young_Thing)

I never knew that. It was just strange to me how different the end product has been compared to the demo. But then it turns out it basically is a completely different song and the only thing they have to do with each other is the title. Even the writers are different. Hm, strange.

(I love both versions.)
