Can someone please explain what is so great about the Kindle

I am old fashion and don't like too much change; Can I get ANY book that I normally read manually, onto this? Or is it like only certain books that only are made for this???

I don't have the Kindle I just ordered the Barnes & Noble Nook but I can tell you that it's only certain titles the publisher has to give permission for it to be done electronically and not all books are available yet. Go on Amazon.com and look up their ebooks and if there's a book you want to read search for it.

I decided to get one because I like to read but I'm sick of having to go to the store and spend big bucks on a book I'll only read once and then it will sit in a drawer and collect dust.
