Justin did an interview with Ryan Seacrest and talked a lot of great things about the song.

He said that Michael is the greatest artist ever and encourages MJ fans to buy both versions of the song.

Here are a few quotes from the interview from the article.

“My first reaction was, ‘There is no way’ … I’m such a loyal fan to him and his music that it seemed almost too much of a thing, but then I kept hearing this song and … it just felt so good … It kind of spoke to me. It reminded me of some of the stuff Tim and I had worked on on 20/20 Experience.”

“Interestingly enough, there were songs on the last *NSYNC album … one song in particular, “Gone,” originally I wrote that song for Michael. I’ve always been a big fan of him and I think back to …

About recording LNFSG it made me reminisce to the times he performed at the VMAs with *NSYNC, where we performed at Madison Square Garden with him, and the numerous meetings I had had with him in the past just about music.”

Justin Timberlake is nothing but a class act. This interview proves it. Please listen to the whole thing. In the past I was jealous about JT getting the spotlight over Michael but now I have nothing but appreciation for him. Hope you guys have the same!

Sorry but he really is disrespecting Michael as are the album producers. They just see him and Timbaland as sales appeal, nothing to do with Michael's art. The song was finished so they want big name artist on there to sell more sales since they think Michael isn't good enough.

Which is why the original version will be available on the deluxe edition if you don't care for the newly produced versions. I understand where you are coming from. I don't see it as disrespect though. Disrespect is what Michael had to deal with in the trials. I assure you there will be songs from this album on the radio without any other artist besides Michael.

Thank you . i appreciate the interview and Justin's words about MIchael. Ryan also played a part of the original demo that will be on the deluxe version.

To buy Michael's original demos I am forced to buy Timbalands versions as well as Timberlake. I just want Michael!

Justin Timberlake Bombshell: Michael Jackson Pushed Me to Go Solo

By ANTOINETTE BUENO

May 05, 2014

Justin Timberlake recently sat down for an intimate interview for OWN's Oprah Presents Master Class, and revealed that it was actually the King of Pop himself -- Michael Jackson -- that pushed him to go solo.

Timberlake recalls writing the 2001 'N Sync hit Gone for Michael, but when his team turned the slow jam down, 'N Sync cut the record instead.

"It was one of those songs where, it felt a little more personal to me, because I had written it for the biggest artist of all time," he smiles. "I guess Michael did hear it, and called me on the phone and said that he wanted to cut the record, but he wanted it to be a duet between himself and I. And I said, 'Well, it's already out, we've already cut the song as an 'N Sync record ... could we do, like, an 'N Sync featuring Michael Jackson, or Michael Jackson featuring 'N Sync?' And he was very absolute about the fact that he wanted it to be a duet between himself and I."

"I think it's the first idea that I ever got about doing something on my own because it was the first time I ever really felt the confidence to do it," he explained.

Timberlake went on to become a highly successful solo artist after leaving 'N Sync, producing chart-topping and Grammy award-winning albums Justified (2002), Future Sex/LoveSounds (2006) and The 20/20 Experience (2013).

Though according to 'N Sync member Lance Bass, it was actually P. Diddy who he thought broke the successful boy band up!

"I never heard that story, so I would not blame it on Michael Jackson," Bass said. "I always thought that it actually came from P.Diddy because P.Diddy was opening up for us at the very last concert and I remember that they were at the bar at one of our, you know, parties and I heard him say, ‘Hey, you should go solo, you know, without the guys.’ And I was like, wait a minute, I’m sitting right here."

Though he insists that there are no hard feelings.

"We're brothers," he said of his relationship with Timberlake now. "It was something we did as kids. We loved it so much but we all had to grow up. I could not be more proud of him."

Timberlake kicks off the new season of Oprah's Master Class on May 11 at 10 p.m. on OWN.

awesome! I wonder how many more 'encounters' with michael he had that we havent heard about. I wish he'd tell us about them. Suprised this story hasnt been told before

in the radio interview he said, Michael problably never heard about "gone". now they even discuss it to do a duet. hmmm.

^^So much for Timberlake being a class act!? He just says whatever he needs to say. Does whatever is best for and convenient to him.

The shade is strong with this one.

No, you can buy any track separately. It may be tedious to click a few more times with the mouse, though.
