In the movie THIS IS IT, the footage from the last actual rehearsal on June 24th are the shots where MJ is wearing that black jacket and baggy pants ("Thriller" and "Earth Song"). This comes directly from Orianthi. My friend got to go backstage at her free show at the Palms in Las Vegas tonight and asked her this question and this was her answer. There was video footage of the questions being asked to her that I am trying to get.

Other parts in the movie from the night of the 24th are:

When Mike is wearing the blue/gold/glitter jacket in I'll Be There and when he's telling Orianthi to 'hit her highest note' in the white shirt, with the stripe down each side of his pant legs...

The footage where Mike is wearing the red shirt in TDCAU and Beat It etc are from the 23rd...

:( They were so close away from coming to London. Sigh.

.
is this the same jacket he is hugging ppl in (what they show before the J5 medley?) so that may be from the same day as well?

it would be good if someone could make a list of what date each section of footage was taken from. is it even know?

Damn...a day before his death he was on top of his game..performing thriller and etc. so sad....I still can't believe it.

'hit her highest note' in the white shirt, with the stripe down each side of his pant legs...
which is from BOW is the entire BOW performance from the 24th or just the bit at the end with highest notes and its your time to shine comments

theres abit of a discussion in the TII section about this because of the curls for my girls t.shirt

those parts where the seatings are red are from before 19th June because i think that was the last rehearsal at the Forum where the seats are red

So Mike wore at least 3 different outfits for one rehearsal? That's quite a lot given it wasn't even a dress rehearsal.

We know from the photos and also from the original TDCAU footage that the last rehearsal is the one where the photographer was present.

So you have to match the outfits in the photos to the ones in the film.

The last rehearsal is the one that we see all the photographs of - the grey suit with the red shirt, the TWYMMF performance with the right costume on, the J5 medley with the plastic-looking blue shirt, and now apparently Thriller (with the bomber jacket) and Earth Song. There are also pictures of him performing IJCSLY in a white shirt. The Shake Your Body section is also from the last rehearsal as he's wearing the white shirt again and it was pictured by the photorapher.

now im confused as everyones basically saying everything is from the 24th lol b4 all it was was ES and thriller cause of the t.shirt

hm i have read the photographer Kevin Mazur was present on both Staples days, plus the rehearsal on the last day was only about 3 hours long, so i think so many stuff could not have fit in, no?

I would like to know did they ever have a dress rehearsal, where MJ wore the outfits he was going to wear for each song? Does MJ ever do that? As on Dangerous Rehearsal footage, he ain't in costumes either.

Too painful. I'd rather not know which ones are from the last rehearsal. :(
I knew about the Earth song and Thriller because he had the Curls for my girls tshirt...

Yeah me too... but it doesn't stop me from crying every time I see a thread like this..

At the I'll be there when he walk and smile gosh that made me cry every time in the theater. Never thought that was on June 24 before he left us :( he was so beautiful and seems so happy that time

When he wears the gray suit with the red shirt, it was the 23 not 24. The footage that AEG showed not long after he died was from 2 days before his death.

yeah i hate those parts of the film e song and thriller has me in tears everythime especially the interlude after thriller where the music from ghost is played. someone on the board pointed it out. didnt realise b4 but when u watch it makes u think of one thing. mj raising to u know where. u see that 24th footage and wish u could reach into the screen and change things

When I went to see it the last time, I told my friend that these parts was from his last day alive, I must have speaking somewhat loud cause the people next to us told the people sitting next to them etc, I could hear the "really? oh wow.."'s dominoing across the entire room...

so is the j5 section fist in my ear from the 24th?

I think so, yes.

I think he looked truly amazing in the footage from the June 24th rehearsals... No sunglasses on, he looked so happy, like he was touched by grace (Earth Song, I'll Be There...). This is just too heartbreaking for words...

yeah i wish that they had put dates on th screen for certain dates like that. so many times when ive been in the cinema u have an urge to stand up and say "do u all realise when this footage was taken" it would make it even more powerful if ppl knew.then again most gen public wont remeber the exact date ie the 25th so then prob wont realise the significance of a date being on the bottom of the screen. its hard to think we had footage of mj performing vertually right till the end. not just having a pic of him out shopping a couple of weeks earlier and that was the last footage/photo we had of him. he was doing his thing for us his enitre life from begining to end litterally. i dont know if in years to come we will treasure that footage or if it just makes things worse
