I recently was reading through the thread that discusses, michael with judy. And thought i should make a whole thread for Judy. And hope that some of you guys who have only ever seen her as 'dorothy' could possibly discover a little more about her.

She was so emotional in her songs, So honest in performances. Probaly the greatest performer ever for me. (besides michael ofcourse) lol.

Il post a few of her great performances. I hope you will watch some. :)

This one reminds me of michael and i think resonates with his life alot. Judy sings the line ''I get weary and sick of trying, Im Tired Of living, but Scared of dying''. That line, means so much and the way she sings it, with so much emotion and the note she holds at the end, truly mind blowing:

Here she just how much of a great entertainer she is. Such power and greatness. The note it the end is amaaazingg!!

This song, (like i put in the other thread), i think is the most emotion put into a song.... ever
It gets me everytime i see it.
Over the rainbow on the television in 1955.

I thank you a lot for posting these video, I just finished watching The Wizard of OZ.. I hadn't seen it since I was 4 years old or something. And I have never really heard anything else with her..

Under the first video Ol' Man River, someone posted a comment saying: " If this don't turn you on you ain't got no switches!" :)

the 3rd video fantastic..

Good taste you have, my friend. Judy is such a brilliant star. Have you heard of Lena Zavaroni? She was a child star from Scotland who shot to fame at the age of 9 in 1973. She died at the age of 35, due to complications from a 22 year struggle with anorexia.
She was heavily influenced by Judy Garland, Ethel Merman, Barbara Streisand, and Liza Minnelli (who she even performed with). In a book written on her life, the author prefaces it with this Judy Garland quote "We need applause. That's how we live. When you don't have a lot of noise around you, the noise inside you becomes overwhelming.'' It's fitting for Judy, Lena, and Michael. =/

Please please check her out. Here are some Judy-esque/awesome performances from her.

I should thank you. It was so nice, that I just watched the movie, and then came here and saw your thread.. I had just been wondering, what else she had actually done!
Your thread IS a succes LOL
I ones made a thread about Julie Andrews, because I was so much into her.. and I think it only got 3-4 replies as well.. but these old stars are no less, just because people are more interested in the newer stuff... I try to go back in time, because I hate most new music (most of it I wouldn't even call music...) and because there's so much I still can discover..

Yesterday I went onto watching "Singing in the rain!" and another fabulous Judy Garland video called "Get happy"

Wow, thats cool. And its sad more people dont appreciate the older stuff. I love julie andrews, especially in The sound of music. My favourite film of ALL time. I watch it almost every other day!!

Really!! You should see her in the muppet show then, where she sings a couple of songs from Sound of Music

I really love Judy Garland. She's one of my favorites and she was a beautiful woman. My favorite movie since I was little was the Wizard Of Oz. Two years ago, I did in-depth research on Judy and I've adored her since.

I was really surprised and touched when I read this story-Liza had her mother moved to the Hollywood Forever cemetery in Los Angeles, so they can all be together. She was a really young woman when Judy died-so she let Judy's husband choose her resting place-in New York. Glad to see that she had this done.

She's in a really beautiful mausoleum there. Very nice.

[FONT=&amp]LOS ANGELES (AP) — Judy Garland's remains were moved cross-country to a mausoleum intended as the resting place for daughters Liza Minnelli and Lorna Luft and other family members.
The transfer from a crypt in New York's Ferncliff Cemetery to Hollywood Forever Cemetery was completed last Friday, Noelle Berman, a Hollywood Forever spokeswoman, told The Associated Press.
"The move to Hollywood was made after many years of family consultations and deliberations," Berman said Monday. "Ms. Garland's three children now reside in Southern California and wished to have their mother resting near them."
The space in the mausoleum, renamed the Judy Garland Pavilion, has room for all her family including the famed actress-singer's daughters, her son, Joey Luft, and her grandchildren, Berman said in an interview.
The move reflects resolution of an issue involving Garland's fifth husband, according to Victoria Varela, a family spokeswoman.
"When Judy Garland died, her affairs were controlled by her husband, Mickey Deans. Her children had no say in the matter of her burial, so this is at last their opportunity to do what they feel their mother would have wanted in the first place — to be united with her family in Hollywood," Varela said in a statement.
Garland, star of classic films including "The Wizard of Oz" and "Meet Me in St. Louis," died in 1969 at age 47 in London. Deans died in 2003.
Her other spouses included filmmaker Vincent Minnelli, father of Oscar-winning "Cabaret" star Liza, 70, and producer Sidney Luft, father to actress-singer Lorna, 64, and Joey, 61.
Hollywood Forever Cemetery, in the shadow of several historic movie studios, including Paramount Pictures, is the final resting place for many luminaries, among them Cecil B. DeMille and Douglas Fairbanks, and is the site of tributes to others such as Jayne Mansfield.
Garland's gated family room is a part of the mausoleum, the cemetery said.
