I just read that Joe has passed away...is this true:??,

I just read your post and I looked it up because I get alerts on anything and everything from the AP and didn't hear a word.

Apparently it was a death hoax Thursday night and Friday and his reps put out a statement to say "don't believe everything you read on the internet" today.

When Tito Jackson was on the "Wendy Williams" Show in mid-June this year, he said "his Dad was doing a lot better and he was home now." Joe had pneumonia two weeks before this.

paris wrote that she was worried about someone she was not on good terms with. When asked whether that person is her mother, she replied no, she is on good terms with her. My guess is she is talking about joe.

I may not like Joe at the best of times but for crying out loud the man is elderly and the press are picking on him..WTF!!??

We could only imagine the stripes he carries on his back for being villainized in the media for multiple decades.. We know his history but there is no way we could imagine what it's like to be Joe - knowing even with his last breath he will pass with negative judgment.. THAT I don't wish on him at all.

NO, Joe villainized HIS SELF by beating his son SO damn bad that decades later as a grown man his son would THROW UP at the thought of seeing him.

I've never been a Joe basher because I know it's not what Michael would want, but the man is FAR from innocent.

It always amazes me how some people can hate Joe YET they love the talented person he brought to the world. Yes Mr. Joe made mistakes as ALL parents do in some way or another but being a black family in Gary, INdiana, that was high crime even during that era, with 9 kids, 6 of which was boys, yes, I can understand doing what you have to do to get your kids out. Tito had a gun put to his head and MJ with his brothers saw a man hanging from a pole with a ice pick through the man's neck, etc nd this is just what was told and not the things that happen that was not told. Sorry but Jacksons did not grow up in Mayberry.

Jackson family patriarch Joe Jackson is battling terminal cancer in a Los Angeles hospital, reports Variety.

According to the Daily Mail, Joe Jackson is currently bedridden with stage four pancreatic cancer and his condition is rapidly deteriorating.

The tabloid also detailed the behind-the-scenes fight between members of the Jackson family and Joe Jackson's inner circle of handlers for access to the father of Michael and Janet Jackson in his reported final days.

"No one knew what was going on - we shouldn't have to beg, plead, and argue to see our own father, especially at a time like this," Jermaine Jackson told the Daily Mail.

"We have been hurting. We were not being told where he was and couldn't get the full picture. Even from the doctor. My mother was worried sick. He's very very frail, he doesn't have long. The family needs to be by his bedside - that's our only intention in his final days."

Jermaine later walked back the imminence of Joe Jackson's death on Twitter. "My father's health is not good, but 'dying' is a harsh word chosen by headline writers, not me. For however long he has left, my mother, siblings, and relatives want to be with him, without hindrance," Jermaine tweeted.

Bringing a child into the world is not the same thing as being a parent. People can and should separate their feelings for Joe, from their feelings for Michael. Loving Michael doesn't mean that Joe Jackson should be given a free pass for everything he has done, or not done, in my opinion. I'm sorry that he's dying of pancreatic cancer, but that's really all I can wring from my lips, at this point.

I agree but it also should not throw everything he did away either. I think he did many things wrong (as ALL parents are not perfect) but I think he had good intention. You have to look at his era a black man with 9 children (6 black boys) in Gary, Indian (Gary is not for the weak at heart especially in the 60's) where crime was high, survival, etc.

I 100% agree but that doesn't change the fact that Michael had psychological problems because of this. When he saw him "he puked a couple of times" he said.

Hes knocking on 90. Even he wont live forever. Hes lived a long healthy life more than others. Nearly double the life mj got. Half my family were lucky to get past 40 cause of cancer. Thats a tragedy.

I feel very sad. I hope Joe is ok but we all have to go someday and the man is 90. But I do hope he pulls through.

Of course it does not change what feelings MJ has (I have feelings my bio father, who never spanked me and he never cursed but he did not take care of his responsibility and many of my siblings and myself have issue with our bio father who has now passed on in 2010) but it also does not take away we would have never known MJ and him going on to be the greatest entertainer who was loved by millions around the world either. MJ never quit the business and he could when he turned 18.
