THEY seem an unlikely couple for a bromance, but the Premier's son and Michael Jackson's brother get along as easy as ABC.

Colin Barnett's son, Sam, said he had developed a strong friendship and business relationship with Jackson 5 member Jermaine Jackson, which he is hoping will reap dividends for Perth.

The two are so close they even shared in an impromptu duet of Jackson 5 hit I Want You Back on a recent flight out of Perth.

"The cabin went immediately silent," Mr Barnett said.

"I sang the chorus and Jermaine sang the rest of the words. It was all eyes on us for that few minutes and all eyes were smiling. It was a great moment."

As revealed on PerthNow on Friday, Jackson is the charity ambassador for Mr Barnett's company Pearllargo a property investment and leisure asset company that invests in property syndicates and trusts.

Registered in Australia and the US, the company includes a private charity fund.

Mr Barnett, 24, and Jackson 58, were introduced by a mutual friend in Perth about seven months ago.

"We've travelled together a lot and have shared some fantastic experiences," Jackson said. "We always have great fun."

Jackson said he and Mr Barnett shared a passion to make the world a better place and improve the lives of those less fortunate than themselves.

"Sam and I have a trust for each other, which I feel is extremely rare but important in business," he said. "We are friends first and matters of business come second."

Mr Barnett said he and Jackson spoke to each other on the phone almost weekly and this year travelled together to Malaysia, Singapore and within Australia.

Both are working on a project to raise money for charity by auctioning pearls painted by celebrities.

Mr Barnett came up with the idea after the duo saw a woman wearing a strand of pearls, during a meeting at a Perth hotel.

"I whispered to Jermaine that we should find some pearls and paint on them to create art," Mr Barnett said. "Jermaine loved the idea.

"I then excused myself from the meeting and asked the concierge at our hotel to please find a toy store and buy some paint and brushes."

Jackson said he plans to return to Perth very soon.

"I would like to spend a lot more time there with my family," he said.

Mr Barnett was coy on whether Pearllargo would invest in Jackson's properties.

"That's one of the confidentiality agreements," he said.

AWW love is so sweet. I wonder if something about that guy reminds Jermaine of Michael? I hope they find someone to keep that charity money safe.
