On this day 40 years ago, Steven Spielberg's JAWS opened in theatres and the concept of 'Summer Blockbuster' was born. Movie Poster

Everything about this film is perfect. The story, the acting, the characters, the action, the horror, the suspense. Jaws is flawless

Oh, so this is why one of the TV channels here played all four parts last weekend.

I like it. Classic.

Anybody here who saw Jaws on the first day?? Probably not. :)
I just got a drivers license and took my little brother and his friends down to the Galleria Mall at 6 in the morning to stand in line.

Went home for a few more hours of sleep (teenagers need sleep) and went back at 10 to find at least 500 people in line and my brother sitting on the ticket counter answering the phone for the theater. So funny.

Anyway I was there with 4 little boys and it ended up being so exciting. Especially with the packed audience in the dark and the suspense and the music. Came out of there singing the praises of Spielberg and Jerry Williams and a big crush on Richard Dreyfus. Lol.

^ I can't remember when I first watched it. Definitely not in the movies. Must have been on some real bad quality VHS with amateur dubbing. That's how we were able to see a lot of movies back then (1980s) in socialist countries. LOL.
